Strengthening Livelihoods before the Drought Peak
As part of anticipatory action to protect vulnerable livestock-owning families, supplemental fodder packs (Wanda) are being distributed to 650 poor households, particularly women-headed families and persons with disabilities who depend on goats and sheep for their livelihoods.
This timely support is provided before the peak of drought conditions to help families maintain animal health, reduce weight loss, protect milk production, and prevent distress sales of livestock. Combined with awareness sessions and para-vet guidance, the intervention strengthens early coping capacity and helps safeguard critical livelihood assets before conditions worsen.
This initiative is implemented by LHDP, with the support of Start Network and READY Pakistan.
