Goodbye Beautiful Hunza 👋🏽
I write this caption with a heavy heart whilst sitting in a bus that’s taking me back to Islamabad from where I’ll fly back home to England 🇬🇧
Tears still roll down my cheeks from when I said goodbye to everyone, hugging, kissing & sobbing
It still doesn’t make sense to me how this British girl packed her backpack one year ago, booked a one way ticket to a country that was completely foreign to her, no friends, no family, flew out alone against the wishes of her family, and ended up finding her home here in the mountains 🏔
One year in Pakistan 🇵🇰
Traveled from China border to the Iranian border
North to south. And back north again
Saw all four seasons
Stayed in multiple homes
Met hundreds of people
And I can hand on heart say that only one place felt like HOME
That I belong here
The people are mine
I am one of them
They are a part of me
HUNZA ♥️
Within my past year in Pakistan this was my second time in Hunza. I returned because the family that hosted me made me promise that when it was time for me to leave Pakistan for good, I will come back to say Goodbye.
The last goodbye wasn’t as painful as I knew I was going to return
This time round I honestly don’t know when I will be back.
Half my heart I have with me
The remaining half I’ve left in Hunza 💔
I don’t speak the Hunzai language Burushaski. But I will say:
J tai agayaba k j jaimo haa fath na mathan amlr nechaba?
Han ta dish'an amlo j kaman waqt hurutaba
Ja asey han hisan apache be
Or dusra hisa asey hamisha hunzo lo dewashe 💔
Until next time Hunza
I love you ♥️
