Meherban Karim was the last Pakistani who climbed K2 without bottled oxygen. He died during descent on K2 in 2008. Since then no Pakistani even attempted K2 without O2.

Mountaineering is a very difficult and demanding sports, it requires maticulous assessment and claculation of risk! its a pure game of daring people! mountaineering has gained alot of ground recently and young generation is getting more interested in it, it needs very careful planning and decission making, with digial world and easy access of internet even at high altitudes, this game has been getting in to a race , some friends spread unverified information of summits or pumping the emotions ,putting the lives at great risk,in winters many social and even main stream media did the same with Late star climber Muhammad Ali Sadapara and his team... similarly Wajid Nagari and his team summit news of Rakaposhi was making all over the social media, in reality there was no any confirmation from them , untill yesterday that too came from Alpine club , it still need confirmation once the team descend to base camp safely, .... now the news of them getting stranded at at unknow altitude is making all over the Social media.!..

Search and rescue at 6900meters is very demanding and challenging, helicopters in Pakistan don't fly to this altitude.. ...depsite the fact the same helicopters H125 B3e helicopters long line rescue at this altitude is very common at 7300meters even hgiher ..but its very slim in Pakistan, since Pakistna doesn't have private helicopter operators nor Govt has highly qualified mountain search and rescue team... modern technology use is very important at this stage .

1. drone camera should be flown to this altitude immediately to send emgency medication and energey bars..( this requires cracking the software to fly the drone to this altitude)

2. Helicopter flight is only useful to use zoom lenses to trace the wareabouts.

4. formation of a team of highly qualified mountaineers for ground rescue... ensuring their safety and wellbeing . under a very competent search and rescue expert /team leader

After Col Sher khan ( col sher did it through south west ridge 1979)and sultan ullah baig who did summit on 1983 and died on way back between camp 1 and camp 2 wajid will be the 3rd pakistani to summit Rakaposhi, and will be first pakistani to reach summit after 1983
People from gilgit city can easly witness their summit with binoculars and can spot them with Zom lense, sumit ridge is clearly visible from Jutyal Gilgit
