KTP Shimshal Pass (4,700m) and Minglik Sar Peak (6,050m) Trek 2025:
We began our trek from Skardu on August 6th, where we rested for a day at the passu. The next day, we headed to Shimshal Valley, a scenic drive of around 3 hours from Passu, but due to the rough terrain, it's recommended to take a 4x4 Jeep.
Shimshal Valley is a breathtakingly beautiful destination, surrounded by dry mountains with snow-capped peaks, including the majestic “White own” Mountain (7,000m). The valley is home to around 300 households, known for their rich culture and warm hospitality. The locals are highly educated and welcoming.
MINGLIK SAR PEAK (6050 m)
Minglik Sar Peak (6,050m) is a challenging trekking peak, notorious for its blue ice, which makes it increasingly difficult to climb. However, our team successfully conquered it.
I'd like to extend my congratulations to Mr. Zoraiz Tariq from Islamabad and Mr. Akber Ali Arman from Kanday Valley for their remarkable achievement. They successfully reached the summit on August 13th at around 6:30 am.
"We experienced severe network disruptions around 9-10 days with many areas damaged, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan. Roads were blocked due to cloud bursts and glacier melting. Despite the challenges, the valleys we trekked through were sunny and breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks to Allah, we're now safely in Gilgit City. Let's hope Pakistan remains protected from such natural disasters.
Trekking Journey from shimshal valley to Shimshal pass.
Stage 1:SHIMSHAL VALLEY to GHAR-e-SAR (3670m)
Trek begins from Shimshal Village, crossing the Shimshal River. The path winds through scenic valleys and villages. Reach Ghar Sar it takes 4-5 hours to for normal trekkers,Covering the distance around 10km.
Stage 2-3: GHAR-e-SAR to PERYEN SAR (3850m)
It’s supposed to be the Tough Trek through rugged terrain, crossing the Chichan Bridge. Enjoy stunning views of “past
furzin “and ‘’wuch furzin ’’Valley and surrounding dry peaks.it takes 6-7 hours covering distances around 8Km but those sections is steep up and steep down.
Stage 4-5:PERYEN SAR to SHUW JERAB(4200m)
Easy trek through scenic valleys first pf Arbob paryain and meadows. Reach Shuijarab, a summer pasture with breathtaking views. Enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
Stage 6:SHUW JERAB to SHIMSHAl PASS (4735m)
Steep ascent to Shimshal Pass (4,735m). Breathtaking views of surrounding peaks and glaciers. Stand at the pass, taking in the majestic scenery.
