Remembering Two of Our Gems!

Over the last few days, we have lost two of our precious gems from Jamalabad village - Mr. Farman Ali and Mr. Irfan Raza. The loss of these two remarkable individuals has left a deep and lasting impact on our community. The grief of losing such wonderful souls are difficult to express in words.
Mr. Farman Ali was one of our leading philanthropists and had been associated with the printing and press industry for several decades. Although he had been residing in Islamabad and was away from his native village, Jamalabad, he remained deeply connected to his community. He was always involved, directly or indirectly, in the development and welfare activities of the village and generously supported almost every initiative that aimed to benefit the people of Jamalabad.
Whenever we had the opportunity to meet him, whether in Islamabad or during his visits to the village, we found him kind, supportive, and encouraging. His generosity, humility, and commitment to his community made his personality an inspiration for many of us. His contributions may not always have been visible, but their impact will continue to be felt for years to come. We will always remember and miss him, and pray that Almighty Allah grants him the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.

Similarly, Mr. Irfan Raza was a man of laughter, smiles, and an exceptionally charming personality. He was perhaps the one person in our community whose mere presence could bring happiness to everyone around him. It was almost impossible to remain serious when Irfan was around.
Our major community events -whether Salgira celebrations, night shows, youth gatherings, or other social activities- were always filled with entertainment and laughter because of his unique sense of humour, acts, and energetic presence. Even during serious discussions and meetings, Irfan had a special ability to lighten the atmosphere and turn a tense situation into a moment of laughter and ease.
His tragic passing after a short illness in Qatar came as a profound shock to the entire Jamalabad community. His laughter, cheerful nature, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
The loss of Uncle Farman and our dear Irfan is not only a loss for their families but for the entire Jamalabad community. May Almighty Allah forgive their shortcomings, grant them the highest place in Jannah, and give their families and loved ones the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.
You will always remain a part of Jamalabad’s story, memories, and heart.

29-8-2026 A Tribute to Irfan Raza: A Light That Will Never Fade.

Today, the community of Jamalabad laid to rest a beloved son, Irfan Raza, who passed away in Qatar. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.

Irfan was more than just a resident of Jamalabad; he was one of its most dedicated and cherished volunteers. His kindness was not just a trait; it was a way of life. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen and valued, always offering a helping hand without expecting anything in return.

His greatest talent, however, was his ability to bring a smile to people’s faces. Whether he was organizing a community event, helping a neighbor, or simply sharing a few words, Irfan had a way of lifting spirits and spreading joy. His humble nature meant he never sought recognition, but his actions spoke volumes and touched countless lives.

The people of Jamalabad will deeply miss his presence. The void he leaves is immense, but the memories of his goodness and the smiles he created will remain with us forever. He was a true volunteer in every sense of the word, and his spirit will continue to inspire us.

In Loving Memory of Irfan Raza

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Irfan Raza, son of Farman Raza a vibrant 25 year old from Jamalabad, Gojal Hunza who passed away in Qatar on 27 August 2026.

His body was brought back to Islamabad and later transported to his beloved village of Jamalabad, where he was laid to rest at the village graveyard following Namaz-e-Janaza.

Irfan was remembered as a kind-hearted and cheerful young man who brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. A talented stage performer, entrepreneur, community volunteer and social worker, he touched many lives through his generosity, energy and dedication to others.

He had travelled to Qatar with dreams of building a successful business but his journey took a different turn. Indeed to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.

Irfan’s laughter, talent and warm presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. May Allah grant him eternal peace and give his family the strength and patience to bear this immense loss.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Farman Raza, Dheghd Janat, Mukhi Sadruddin, Sultan Raza, Salman Raza, his uncles, sisters and the entire Arbab family.

May Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give the bereaved family Sabr-e-Jameel during this difficult time.

Cafe de Khunjerav Inaugurated in Dhee Khunjerab

Dhee Khunjerav : Cafe de Khunjerav has officially opened its doors in Dhee Khunjerav adding a new hospitality spot for residents, visitors and tourists travelling through the scenic Khunjerab region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by local residents and guests and was formally performed by chief guest Senator NaikNam Karim, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sports.

The new cafe is expected to provide visitors with a welcoming place to relax and enjoy refreshments while exploring the unique landscape of Upper Hunza and the Khunjerv area.

Cafe de Khunjerav Opens at Khunjerav National Park to Enhance Tourist Experience

Deh khunjerav August 21, 2026: A new tourist facility, Cafe de Khunjerav has been inaugurated at Khunjerav National Park to provide improved services and a comfortable stop for visitors traveling to the Pakistan-China border.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, tourism representatives, local stakeholders and community elders. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and prayers for the successful operation of the new facility.

Located within Khunjerav National Park, the cafe offers visitors a place to relax, enjoy refreshments and access information about the surrounding area. The facility includes comfortable seating and displays highlighting the region’s tourism attractions with panoramic mountain scenery adding to the experience.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure in Upper Hunza and improving basic facilities for the large number of domestic and international tourists who travel to Khunjerav Pass each year.

Situated at an altitude of approximately 4,693 meters, Khunjerav Pass is the world’s highest paved international border crossing and one of the most popular destinations along the Karakoram Highway.

Local community representatives welcomed the initiative, saying the cafe would improve facilities for tourists while potentially creating new economic opportunities for residents of the area.

The opening of Cafe de Khunjerav marks another step toward developing tourism services and promoting sustainable tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan.
