Sher Peak & Shimshal Pass – Hunza Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nestled in the remote Shimshal Valley, Sher Peak (approx. 6,000m) rises near the ancient Shimshal Pass—once a key route for shepherds and traders crossing into China. The pass was part of Shimshal’s seasonal migration to high pastures (Pamirs), reflecting a deep connection with nature and tradition.
Named after the word “Sher” (lion), the peak symbolizes strength and courage. Today, it draws trekkers and climbers seeking raw beauty and the legendary spirit of Shimshal’s mountaineers.
