World Tourism Day 2026 | Tourism in Kashmir – Challenges & Opportunities

It was a pleasure to participate, on behalf of ALPS TOURS, in a special seminar organized by the AJK Tourism Department in collaboration with The Public Team on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

The session brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from across the tourism sector, including tour operators, hoteliers, restaurateurs, mountaineers, bikers, media professionals and representatives of civil society, creating a valuable platform to discuss the challenges, opportunities and future potential of tourism in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

As CEO of ALPS TOURS, I had the opportunity to share my perspective on strengthening the tourism ecosystem and to have a meaningful discussion with Mr. Shahid, Director General Tourism AJK, regarding the development and promotion of tourism in the region.

I am also grateful for the Certificate of Recognition presented to ALPS TOURS at the conclusion of the event. Such recognition encourages us to continue contributing towards responsible tourism, stronger industry collaboration and the promotion of Pakistan and Kashmir as remarkable tourism destinations.
