The Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, is a landmark building completed in 1986, designed by Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay. Inspired by a Bedouin tent, it was funded by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia ($120–$130 million) and features four 90-meter minarets. It is among the largest in the world, accommodating over 100,000 worshippers.

Located a short distance from Faisal Mosque, Damn E Koh offers a vantage point from which one can enjoy an eagle's view of Islamabad and also observe Faisal Mosque from an elevated perspective.

Kalash - Chilam Joshi Festival (Spring) 2026

Chilam Joshi Festival is one of the most significant cultural celebrations in Pakistan. In November 2018, UNESCO recognized Kalash culture as part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This four-day celebration takes place in the three Kalash valleys of Rambur, Bumburet, and Birir.

The Chilam Joshi festival kicks off with a "milk festival." A ten day before the festivities begin, the Kalash people gather milk from goats and sheep, storing it in a large clay jar known as a "Chilam." They sacrificed saved milk to the gods, particularly Oshidai, who they thought guarded animals in the spring and summer. They prayed for a plentiful harvest in the upcoming year and for the gods to protect agriculture and cattle. On the second day of the celebration, the Chirik P**i ceremony took place. After that, the community's women and children received the purified milk.

The women donned embroidered cap with sea shells, ornaments and beads, and traditional dress (chadar) decorated with vibrant embroidery. The males donned wool vests and traditional shalwar kameez. To the sound of drums, they formed a circle and began to sing and dance.
