List includes country's northern area for its travel experience, environment, beautiful landscapes
Pakistan’s Gilgit Baltistan (GB) has bagged a spot among BBC’s 25 best travel destinations for 2025 for its incredible travel experience, environment and beautiful landscapes.

The BBC has released a list of 25 best travel destinations in the world for the year 2025 with input from its travel journalists as well as United Nations World Travel Organisation, Sustainable Travel International, the Black Travel Alliance and the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Pakistan has secured the 20th place on the list. According to BBC, the country is hoping a slew of responsible tourism initiatives and new sustainable efforts will lure eco-conscious visitors to explore its breathtaking northern regions.

It is worth noting that Salam Pakistan — country's first-ever national tourism brand, which launched in 2023 — allows travellers to easily apply for e-visas and make bookings on the digital platform.

The scenic Gilgit Baltistan region, which has been dubbed "heaven's gate", is brimming with lush valleys, pristine lakes and glacial waterfalls.

Moreover, cradled between trails are the Hunza Valley's fragrant cherry blossoms and apricot orchards, undulating Unesco-listed Deosai plains and Shangri-La-esque mirrored lakes.

In addition to Pakistan’s inclusion, Dominica tops the BBC list and taking first place. It now offers the chance to swim alongside s***m whales in an ethical, sustainable way as part of the Caribbean island's groundbreaking commitment to marine conservation and regenerative tourism.

The second on the list is Naoshima, Japan, which is home to one of Yayoi Kusama's iconic yellow, polka-dotted Pumpkin sculptures, and has become a must-see destination for connoisseurs of contemporary art and architecture.

نیشنل آئس ہاکی چیمپئن شپ آج نلتر، گلگت بلتستان میں شروع ہو رہی ہے۔ اس آئس ہاکی چیمپئن شپ میں پاکستان بھر سے ٹیمیں شرکت کر رہی ہیں۔ خیبرپختونخوا سے دو ٹیمیں کوالیفائی کر کے چیمپئن شپ میں حصہ لینے نلتر پہنچ چکی ہیں۔ بوائز کی ٹیم "خیبرپختونخوا وولوز" اور گرلز کی ٹیم "خیبرپختونخوا ڈاؤ" ہیں۔ یہ دونوں ٹیمیں نیشنل آئس ہاکی چیمپئن شپ میں خیبرپختونخوا کی نمائندگی کریں گی۔

یاد رہے کہ خیبرپختونخوا کی نمائندگی کرنے والی دونوں ٹیموں کا تعلق ہرچین لاسپور سے ہے، جنہوں نے دسمبر میں شندور میں منعقدہ پہلے آئس ہاکی ٹورنامنٹ میں نہ صرف کامیابی حاصل کی بلکہ نیشنل آئس ہاکی کے لیے کوالیفائی بھی کیا۔

یہ ٹیمیں سرائے شندور گیسٹ ہاؤس کے مالک آصف اقبال کی سرپرستی میں شاندار کارکردگی دکھاتی آئی ہیں اور امید ہے کہ اس سال کی ٹرافی بھی اپنے نام کرنے میں کامیاب ہوں گی۔ یہ قابل ذکر بات ہے کہ آصف اقبال، جو ہرچین لاسپور میں ونٹر اسپورٹس کی ترقی میں کلیدی کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں، آئس ہاکی اکیڈمی بھی چلا رہے ہیں۔ سرائے شندور اکیڈمی نے پہلی بار شندور جھیل میں تاریخ کے پہلے شاندار آئس ہاکی ٹورنامنٹ کا انعقاد خیبرپختونخوا ٹورزم کارپوریشن کے ساتھ مل کر کامیابی سے کیا۔ آج سرائے شندور اکیڈمی کی سرپرستی میں دونوں ٹیمیں نیشنل آئس ہاکی ٹورنامنٹ میں خیبرپختونخوا کی نمائندگی کر رہی ہیں، جو نہایت فخر کی بات ہے اور آصف اقبال کی محنت اور کوششوں کا نتیجہ ہے۔

As part of efforts to preserve and promote historical heritage in Gilgit-Baltistan, a section of the ancient Silk Route between Khizarabad and Budalas in Nagar (Hunza-Nagar) has been meticulously restored. Spanning 7 kilometers, this scenic trek had fallen into disuse due to a damaged footbridge and a landslide. After a dedicated restoration effort spanning 30 days, the district administration of Nagar has successfully revived this iconic route, allowing visitors to experience a vital part of the region's rich history and natural beauty.
