A rare sighting: Himalayan brown bears mating in Deosai!

A truly special moment captured on the flower-blooming plains of Deosai National Park. We can’t wait to hopefully welcome new cubs next year! 🐻🌸

When the national park was first established in 1993, the population of Himalayan brown bears was estimated at only around 15. Thanks to dedicated conservation efforts, that number rebounded to 76 in the 2023 census. Factoring in the cubs born between 2024 and 2026, it is now estimated that more than 80 bears call the park home.

The Himalayan brown bear is one of Pakistan’s most precious treasures and an icon of wildlife to be proud of. Let’s protect their habitat by reducing waste in Deosai, preventing overgrazing by livestock, and continuing to safeguard these magnificent bears for generations to come.

We have successfully completed the Rush Lake Trek and are now on our way back to Islamabad! 🏔️✨

Blessed with great weather and an amazing, happy team. With each passing year, the summer climate and natural environment in Northern Pakistan become more challenging, but I truly hope this incredible glacier-crossing trek can be cherished and enjoyed for generations to come.

A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful guests from Japan and our hardworking crew for making this journey so special!

A dream come true in the Wakhan Corridor: an encounter with the magnificent Marco Polo sheep. A group of rams appeared through the heat haze before disappearing into the snowy heights at around 4,500 meters.

Along the trail, signs of the wild were everywhere—numerous holes dug by Himalayan brown bears hunting marmots, with golden eagles and bearded vultures soaring overhead. An unforgettable journey into the heart of the raw Pamir wilderness.

Summer moments from the Little Pamir, Wakhan Corridor, Afghanistan.

Looking from Pakistan, this is the world beyond the Hindu Kush mountains. The Kyrgyz morning began with milking yaks. The Kyrgyz people migrate to the east of Lake Chaqmaqtin in summer and head west in winter in search of sunlight. The wild birds, blooming flowers, and the Kyrgyz people were all fully enjoying the short high-plateau summer!
