لمڑی (Fox) قدرتی ماحول کا ایک اہم حصہ ہے۔ یہ چھوٹے جانوروں جیسے چوہوں، کیڑوں اور بعض اوقات پھل کھا کر food chain کا توازن برقرار رکھتی ہے۔ اگر لمڑیاں نہ ہوں تو چوہوں کی تعداد بہت بڑھ سکتی ہے جو فصلوں اور ماحول کے لیے نقصان دہ ہے۔ اس طرح یہ انسانوں کی ایک خاموش دوست بھی ہے۔ لمڑی عام طور پر جنگلات، کھیتوں اور پہاڑی علاقوں میں رہتی ہے۔ اس کے بچے جنہیں pups کہا جاتا ہے، عموماً ایک وقت میں 3 سے 6 تک پیدا ہوتے ہیں اور چند ماہ میں شکار سیکھنا شروع کر دیتے ہیں۔

مارگلہ نیشنل پارک بھی لومڑی کی آماجگاہ ہے۔ اس موسم میں لومڑی اکثر روڈ پر بھی نکلتی ہے اور آبادیوں کے قریب اپنے بچوں کے لئے خوراک تلاش کرتی ہے۔ لہذا عید کے دنوں میں اس بات کا خاص خیال رکھیں اور جنگلات اور جنگلی حیات کو آگ اور گندگی سے بچائیں ۔ جنگلات کے قریب روڈ پر احتیاط سے ڈرائیونگ کریں ۔

لوگ شور شرابے سے دور ایک پُرسکون جنگل میں ذہنی آسودگی کے لئے ہائیکنگ کرنے آتے ہیں اور انہوں نے ویڈیو میں دیکھیں کہ کچھ لوگوں نے یہاں بھی نیا تماشا شروع کر دیا ہے۔ کل پھر یہاں بندر اور بکری کا ناچ بھی ہو گا ۔ انتظامیہ کی عجیب منطق ہے کہ موٹر سائیکل سوار کو یہاں تک نہیں پہنچنے دیتے لیکن کبھی کوئی سٹال لگا لیتا ہے تو کبھی کوئی بانسری اور طبلے بجانا شروع کر دیتا ہے۔
