UAE Revoked one month gap for Renewing Visit Visa

The UAE has revoked the condition of a one-month gap for renewing visit visas. People on such visas will no longer need to exit the country to get an extension of their stay here. They can now do it by paying Dh570 and stay for a month more without exiting the country.

The Visit Visa applies to tourists who wish to spend more than 14 days in UAE, those coming for family visits as well as those on long-term business visits. It requires the sponsorship of any UAE resident or any company or hotel licensed to operate within the UAE.

Brigadier Dr Rashid Sultan, a spokesperson for the UAE Ministry of Interior, said the ministry was re-implementing the decision No 337 of the year 2004 to enable all those who have visit visas to get an extension.

"All companies and visitors should submit applications and transactions before the expiry date of the visa period to avoid violations. The immigration services will be provided at all UAE port of entries and immigration offices," he added.

The official said the new rule is applicable for all entry permits. These permits would include transit visas, short-term (one month) and long-term visit (90 days) visas, student visas, visas for medical treatment and residence visas.

In the previous visa requirements, visit visa holders needed to exit the country after the expiry of the visa term and had to stay out of the country for at least a month before being able to re-enter on another visit visa.

He said that amending of visa status will be done electronically and without complications as part of the new procedure. People do not need to the leave the UAE, but they can amend their visa status and pay the required fees in order to facilitate the transactions for visitors and residents and to save money and time.

Obaid bin Suroor, Deputy Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs in Dubai, said that all the decision issued by the Minstry of Interior will be implemented by all immigration departments.

Public throwing out Mr. Rehman Malik & an MNA

Here I'm posting complete package of this new incident of getting Mr. Rehman Malik offloaded from a PIA flight (for making the passengers wait for a couple of hours) along with an MNA belonging to PML-N (for having the liberty of waiting for Mr. Malik in some comfortable place and not with other passengers).

Ladies and gentlemen, in all our past years, the VIPs were Brahmins in our society and all the rest of us were achhoot (the untouchables). The compassionate ones so dearly waited for a day when these Brahmins (these VIPs), held by their hair and beards, will be dragged onto the streets by the common man and shown their real worth. For this, though, a grand transformation was required, where the common man, aka the middle class, realizes its real power. For this, it was required that the common man starts believing that respect is not about how much money you have or about the position that you hold. When they understand that respect has to be earned by being fair, humble, honest, committed and sometimes by just being respectful towards others.

This transformation seemed a farfetched idea until recently, when the educated middle class can be seen rising with a new belief. The common man can clearly see the insecurity of the (so-called) powerful elite when they come together to save each other. The powerful is the new weak and the weak is becoming the new power. Then why become an MNA if you can reclaim respect? Why become filthy rich if rich are not being respected? Tables have turned.

This video is an evidence of this historical transformation. The words between 2:30 and 3:10 echo in my head and my heart beats with this new wave of belief. "And even if you are a Minister, We don't care anymore... We don't care anymore... You people have to become humans".

So I congratulate my fellow countrymen, for this new found belief. I wish and pray and request that we cherish this new power and let's use it with responsibility. and let me end it with this... "We don't care anymore... Because we care".
