Patundas Meadows – A Hidden Gem Above the Clouds
Perched at an elevation of 4,200 meters, Patundas is a serene summer pasture nestled on the ridge between the Passu and Batura glaciers in Hunza Valley. The trek to Patundas is one of the most rewarding short treks in the region, offering breathtaking 360° views of snow-capped giants and lush alpine meadows.
Walking along the ridge, you'll be surrounded by an awe-inspiring panorama: Passu Peak (7,284 m), Batura (7,500 m), Shishper (7,619 m), Momhil Sar (7,342 m), Dasteghil Sar (7,885 m), and the majestic Rakaposhi (7,788 m) – all seem to float in a sea of clouds and mist, painting a scene that stays etched in your memory forever.
The trek begins from the tranquil Borith Lake, passing through Passu Gar, Luzhdar, and Patundas meadows, tracing the edge of the gleaming Passu White Glacier. This is a moderate and accessible trek, suitable for all ages and fitness levels, making it perfect for families, casual hikers, and nature lovers.
Best time to visit: May to September – when the meadows are lush, the skies are clear, and the peaks reveal their full glory.
