💔 Broad Peak – A Mountain Wrapped in Sorrow
Today, the mountains are silent.
Pakistan is known around the world for its hospitality. We welcome visitors, climbers with open hearts, hoping they leave our country with unforgettable memories not in this way. Never in this way.
The tragedy on Broad Peak has left a deep wound in the hearts of our mountain communities and our nation. It is one of the darkest moments in Pakistan's mountaineering history, recalling the painful loss of Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his fellow climbers on K2 a few years ago. Now, Broad Peak has written another heartbreaking chapter.
On behalf of the people of Pakistan and the entire mountain community, we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who lost their lives. No words can ease such grief, but please know that you do not mourn alone. The sorrow is shared across the valleys of the Karakoram and by everyone whose lives have been touched by these mountains.
Those who were lost did everything within their strength, skill, and experience. They pursued their dreams with courage, humility, and determination. Although their journey ended on Broad Peak, they leave behind far more than footprints in the snow. They leave behind inspiration, knowledge, friendship, and a legacy that will continue to live in the hearts of climbers and mountain lovers around the world.
May they all rest in eternal peace, and may their families find strength in this unimaginable time.
🕊️ The mountains will remember them forever. So will we.
Rest in Peace 💔💔💔
