If the mountains have truly become your final resting place, then there could be no more fitting home for a man who dedicated his life to the highest peaks on Earth.
The entire mountaineering community mourns your loss while celebrating an extraordinary legacy. Everyone fortunate enough to know you, climb beside you, or simply follow your journey has been inspired by your spirit. You didn’t just summit mountains you touched the hearts of millions. Your footprints may disappear beneath fresh snow, but your legacy will stand as tall as the Himalaya and Karakoram.
Rest in peace, legend. The mountains will always remember your name.
