Korgah— A women-run Carpet Weaving Center in Gulmit, Gojal-Upper Hunza

In 2005 around 18 women of Hunza set up 'Korgah', a carpet weaving center which has become a major tourist attraction.

As it's housed at a traditional old mud house of Hunza, visiting tourists also get to see here local culture and lifestyle of people centuries ago.

If you are also looking for hand-made carpets with genuine local designs, then It's a must-visit shop.

The Center was initiated by Karakorum Area Development Organization (KADO) in 1998. It was later divested to the women artisans as an independent company which is now in the ownership of the women artisans.

Their uniqueness lies in the fact that designs and motifs used are taken from traditional Hunza embroidery patterns and vegetable dyes and good quality wool are used in the manufacturing these products.
