One of the bottlenecks in the development of aquaculture in Pakistan is considered to be lack of a centralized coordination body; therefore, provinces and private sector stakeholders are not working in unison resulting in duplication and dilution of efforts being made by stakeholders. Fisheries Development Board has provided this forum and now a coordinated aquaculture development programme is being implemented in Pakistan under the aegis of Fisheries Development Board. The Board has become the highest level of coordination between the provincial fisheries department, private sector and other stakeholders.
