For a city like Karachi, with a population exceeding 20 million, deploying an average of 15 to 20 CCTV cameras per 1,000 people would be prudent. This translates to approximately 300,000 to 400,000 cameras across the city. Implementing a comprehensive network of CCTV cameras in Karachi, with a deployment of 15 to 20 cameras per 1,000 people, will be instrumental in combating street crimes and tracking criminals. With such extensive coverage, law enforcement agencies will have the capability to monitor public spaces effectively, deter criminal activities in real-time, and gather crucial evidence for investigations.
This initiative is not only feasible but also imperative for a city as significant as Karachi. The installation of CCTV cameras is a relatively straightforward task, especially considering the size and importance of Karachi as the largest city in Pakistan. By leveraging modern technology and infrastructure, the city can significantly enhance its security apparatus, ensuring a safer environment for its residents and visitors.
