KHARPOCHO FORT is the ancient architecture of Skardu. Most importantly, the whole of Skardu City can be seen from the top of Kharpocho. The Kharpocho Fort also known as Skardu Fort is situated in Skardu City, Gilgit Baltistan. Kharpocho means “King of Forts' in Balti and is an amazing sight for visitors. Fort stands at a height of about 40 m above the city on a mountain. The fort is located on the bank of the Indus River. Near this Fort is the junction point of the Shigar River in the Indus River. This place has its reputation, showing how the king and the queen used to live with their families.

King Ali Sher Khan Anchan built the fort in the late 16th century. The fort was used as a military front in many wars. During the war against the Dogra, the ruler of the region, during the partition of the subcontinent, local forces realized the warfare and the location of the fort in the town. So they first occupied the fort to keep an eye on the entrance and exit point of Skardu city. Nowadays, avenues leading to the Fort are not easily accessible. One has to climb the heart of the Skardu to the top of the mountain where the Fort is located.

The old-fashioned infrastructure has dozens of small and large comfy rooms covered with a large boundary wall. The wood crafting and creative skills invested in the construction of the Fort make this place worth visiting and enjoying. The massive stones, and gravels, have been artistically used in the construction of the boundary walls of the fort. The itinerary of the Fort is studiously kept narrow and steep to save it from burglars and infiltrators.

Though many of the large rooms were burnt out in the war of 1948 of Gilgit Baltistan, the magnificent Fort still stands to attract thousands of tourists all year round. The secret tunnel connecting the Fort and the city. Rajas at that time built a secret tunnel under the mountains joining the town and the Fort. This secret tunnel was used during the war zone, and the royal families were unaware of its existence. You can see the tunnel during your visit to the Fort.

Kirthar National Park, a vast rugged national park in the south-west of Sindh, is home to Ranikot fort. This dry arid land of seemingly endless landscapes of desert with rugged lines of hilly terrain, parallel rock hills, and twisted, stony valleys is ranked among the largest national parks of Pakistan and is home to a wide range of mammals, birds and reptile species. Kirthar Park offers a unique and incredible landscape rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Situated in the Kirthar Mountain Range, Kirthar National Park with an area of over 3,087 km² (about 1200 mi²), is home to two wildlife sanctuaries — Hub Dam Wildlife Sanctuary and Mahal Kohistan Wildlife Sanctuary.

FLORA AND FAUNA:
Kirthar National Park is home to a variety of wildlife and the extensive mountainous terrain is an important refuge. The last leopard was shot in 1977, and although exact numbers are unavailable, its official status is "threatened". Populations of the striped hyena and desert wolf are also feared to have disappeared entirely. The desert lynx is critically threatened too. Nonetheless, many species still find their habitat here. Indian foxes, jungle cats and jackals are still common. Substantial populations of urials (a type of wild sheep), Sindh ibex (also known as Turkman wild goats) and chinkara gazelles live in the park. Indian grey mongooses, hedgehogs and porcupine are among the other larger species. In 1984, a captive breeding programme for blackbuck was initiated, with the intent to reintroduce them into the wild.

The climate is not noticeably different from the rest of Sindh, but it may feel a little hotter and drier in the summer season here from March to August when temperatures are often extreme. The moist months are July and August during the monsoon season when rainfall occurs and makes this desert area greenest. These summer months see flowers in bloom and more lush green vegetation. For most travellers, the best time to visit is roughly October-January, as considerably cooler weather makes these the more comfortable months for getting around.

It was built by Mir Sohrab Khan in 1798 as the principal building serving as the sovereign's court for the royal palace complex of Talpur monarchs of the Khairpur dynasty. Originally it included the ruler's chambers along with 16 waiting rooms for courtiers and guest rooms for royal guests alongside the durbar and dining halls. Additionally there was the Hathi Khana for the royal elephant and the horses stables where there is a mango orchard today.

At present, Faiz Mahal serves as the home of the last Talpur monarch, H. H. Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur II (born 1933), and his sons, Prince Abbas Raza Talpur and Prince Mehdi Raza Talpur. After the original Constituent Assembly of Pakistan was abolished by the Chaudry Ghulam Mohummed/General Iskander Mirza dictatorships, Khairpur state was merged with Pakistani state in 1955 using threat of military invasion in violation of the agreement Mir Ali Murad had with the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Today, the former sovereign is an environmentalist and has to his credit an extraordinary flora and fauna safe haven called the Mehrano reserve, famous for its black buck, and hog deer, which are now rare in Sindh.

ATTOCK KHURD RAILWAY STATION is located near the Old Attock Bridge on the main railway line. The railway station was built in 1885 during British rule. In March 2007 it was renovated and declared a tourist complex. Moreover, it is one of the most beautiful railway stations in Pakistan. Surrounded by lush green hills, its impressive architecture features Victorian architecture and stone masonry. However, it is the gateway to the Attock bridge. All trains running between Rawalpindi and Peshawar pass through this station and do not stop here.

The ATTOCK BRIDGE is located between Attock Khurd and Khairabad Kund on the Indus River in Pakistan. Additionally, it is often referred to as the "Old Attock Bridge". Moreover, it is the most important strategic and commercial crossing of the Indus between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. So it was heavily fortified. Originally designed by Sir Guilford Molesworth, it opened to traffic on 24 May 1883. The construction cost is over Rs 3.2 lakh.

Additionally, Sir Francis Callaghan redesigned and rebuilt it in 1929 for Rs 2.5 million. The bridge has 2 floors and 5 spans. The three spans are 257 feet and 312 feet long. Moreover, the upper floor is for rails and the lower is for road traffic. The entrance was used as a solid fortification against attacks from neighboring Pashtun tribes. Later, the New Attock Bridge is still used for traffic.

THE SAFARI TOUR train leaves Golra station every Sunday for Attock Kurd at 9 am. It is to promote the culture and beauty of the Potohar region. The train takes adventurers to Golra, Hassan Abdal, and Attock Khurd. At Golra station, visitors can visit the railway museum for an hour. The next stop on the safari is Hassan Abdal, which lasts 30 minutes. Before reaching Attock Khurd, the train stops at a small station called Rumian. The train then goes to Attock Khurd Station on the banks of the Indus River. Here tourists can visit the Attock Khurd Museum, explore the train station, and enjoy boating, horse or camel ride, and food.

When you hear the word “desert,” the intense heat immediately springs to mind. A desert’s typical terrain is made up of sand dunes, and any indication of water in or near the desert usually conjures up bad dreams. Since deserts are located in low-lying regions, it would be uncommon to find tall mountains surrounding one. However, this desert is not like the others.

The Sarfaranga Desert is located in Shigar Valley. Here in the desert, nature displays an immense diversity. The Indus River flows close by, and mountains encircle the desert. This place has a gorgeous sunset. When the sun sets above sand dunes, the serenity of a desert is at its most unexpected and captivating.

You will be in awe of the Sarfarnga Desert captivating scenery after viewing it because it features massive Rocky Mountains in the distance, a freshwater lake (Blind Lake) that is easily accessible, and the Indus River, which is Pakistan’s largest river, running alongside the desert. The imposing, Rocky Mountains that encircle the deserts and have brilliant, icy summits are, on average, 6000 meters high. Additionally, the largest river in Pakistan flows nearby, supplying water to thousands of acres of land spanning from Punjab and KPK to the Arabian Sea coast.

ACTIVITIES IN SARFARANGA DESERT:
• Sarfaranga Desert Jeep Safari
• Paragliding
• Horse Riding
• Quad Bike Safari
• Camping Under the Stars
• Sarfaranga Desert Jeep Rally

WEATHER AT SARFARANGA DESERT:
In the winter, the weather in the desert can get pretty harsh. Nonetheless, the summertime average temperature ranges from 8 to 24 degrees. It can get as low as -17 degrees during the winter.

For this reason, it’s crucial to pack appropriately, including lots of snacks and warm clothing to keep yourself warm in the winter.

Evenings can be just as brutal, with lows that fall below freezing. If you plan to spend any time in the desert, don’t forget to pack warm clothing and camping supplies.

KALASHA DUR MUSEUM ('House of the Kalasha People or Cultural Centre for the Kalasha' in Kalashamondr), also known as Bumburet Museum, is a museum located in Bumburet Valley, Lower Chitral District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The museum houses a collection related to the culture and history of the Kalash people, as well as of the communities of the wider Hindu Kush area.

A combination of traditional design and modern techniques was used in its construction. Walls made of stone cover the concrete framework, while the characteristic parallel wooden beams and carved verandas also feature in its design. A temple dedicated to Jestak, a local deity believed to protect generations, has also been constructed near the entrance.

The second floor of the building contains a school of Kalash culture, with a library containing various books in the valley. A hall housing a training institute for local craftsmen is also present there.

The museum exhibits around 1,300 items related to the indigenous Kalash population, including a collection of weapons, everyday items, tools, clothes, jewelry, and musical instruments. Some of the artifacts have been bought from other areas, while some of them have been donated by the people of the three Kalash valleys (Bumburet, Birir, and Rumbur).

Nestled in the heart of the Karakoram Range in Pakistan lies the beautiful Birir Valley. This lesser-known valley is part of the trio of valleys that form the Chitral District, the other two being Bumburet and Rumbur. Despite its relatively unexplored status, Birir Valley offers an exotic blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and rich cultural heritage.

NATURAL BEAUTY:
Birir Valley is a spectacle of untouched beauty. The valley has lush green landscapes, pristine water streams, and abundant wildlife. The towering snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram Range provide a breathtaking backdrop to the valley, while the dense forests of deodar, pine, and walnut trees add to its picturesque beauty. The valley blooms in different shades throughout the year – the soft pinks of peach blossoms in spring, the vibrant greens of summer, the golden hues of autumn, and the mesmerizing whites of winter.

The valley boasts some of the most diverse flora and fauna. It is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers, as it hosts several species of birds, including eagles, hawks, and sparrows. The region has unique wildlife like snow leopards, Himalayan brown bears, and ibex.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Beyond its natural allure, Birir Valley is steeped in historical significance. The valley is home to the Kalash people, an indigenous community known for its unique culture and traditions. The Kalash people are believed to be descendants of Alexander the Great's soldiers, and their customs, language, and dress are distinct from the surrounding communities.

The remnants of ancient civilizations are scattered throughout the valley. These include centuries-old wooden mosques, fortresses, and watchtowers. The valley's architecture is fascinating, featuring intricate woodwork and unique construction techniques that have withstood the test of time.
