CHINA PORT
The newest delight for Karachiites is an axial bay of tetrapod stones, which acts as a stream separating the sea in two. The port is named Pakistan Deep Water Container Port inaugurated in May 2018 just a few meters ahead of Dolmen Mall Clifton. It is locally famous as the China Port, because of its collaboration with the Hong Kong based Hutchison ports. This bay serves the function of water break. The sea can be romantic and harsh at the same time and produce gigantic waves which can be treacherous for ships, shore or nearby structures. Hence the tetra pods are allocated by a layer of quadrants and finding the dormant frequency of the sea, reducing the risk of tsunamis and other catastrophes. The Deep-Water Container Terminal is one of the most progressive in the entire region and has till now broken its own productivity record for about four times servicing some of the largest container ships. The high performance of the port is expected to greatly raise Pakistan’s global trade competitiveness. And if not that, it sure has added itself to Karachiites list of favorite places.
