The long-standing dream between Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir is now becoming a reality

This road will not only connect Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, but will also provide a new, alternative and important route to reach Gilgit-Baltistan from Islamabad and Rawalpindi after the Karakoram Highway and Babusar Top.

This new corridor will assume extraordinary importance for tourism, trade and public transport in the future

A new road emerging from the high mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, which will connect Qamari with Tao Butt Azad Kashmir, is rapidly progressing in construction. 5 km of this 19 km long road has been completed, while the heavy machinery of the Pakistan Army is working day and night on the remaining part.

On the other hand, the road is also being paved by Azad Kashmir, and it is expected that this project will be completed this year.

This highway is not just a road, but a means of reconnecting the historical, cultural and geographical relations of the two regions. This will not only make travel to Rawalpindi and other parts of the country easier and shorter, but will also give a new boost to tourism.
‏This new route, amidst lush valleys, flowing waterfalls and towering mountains, will not only offer breathtaking views but will also open new avenues of employment, development and hope for the local population.

Babu Sar Top, situated 13,700 feet above sea level, is the highest tourist destination in Naran Valley, marking the beginning of the stunning Gilgit-Baltistan region. This site holds the distinction of being one of the most frequented places globally, characterized by consistently sub-zero temperatures. Notably, a mere 42 kilometers downhill towards Chilas, the temperature soars to 45 degrees Celsius at the zero point. Conversely, a 40-kilometer descent towards Naran still yields significantly low temperatures, underscoring the unique climatic conditions of this area, which boasts the shortest distance between the hottest and coldest regions worldwide.
