"Where there is hope there could be life.

Search and rescue attempts for our team members John Snorri, Ali Sadpara and climber Juan Pablo Mohr have been ongoing for the last 48 hours.

The incredibly talent Pakistani Military pilots have been circling K2 high above basecamp searching for our friends.

Yesterday, I embarked on one of the SAR missions with the pilots who identified a few potential leads that synced up with the yellow and red down suits that John and Ali were wearing.

From a great distance, it proved to be a solid lead, but unfortunately with a telephoto lens, close fly by and expanded view later on a laptop showed that these leads unfortunately turned out to be a similarly colored tent, mat and sleeping bag.

It’s been a whirlwind of emotions at basecamp, anticipating a miracle, praying that somehow John, Ali and JP are still alive."

Today, 1st flight by Army in the morning with made it up to 7000m and second flight in the afternoon by 2 Army helicopters (along with Sajid and Chhang dawa sherpa ) made a search (with an aerial reconnaissance) for an hour up to its maximum limit: 7800m to locate missing climbers Ali, John Snorri, and Juan Pablo Mohr in K2. The search team went through the Abruzzi and other routes, we had less weather visibility above C 4, unfortunately, no trace at all. 😔

The wind above 6400m is still 40KM.

Many thanks to 🇵🇰 Pakistani Army and all ground management team 🙏

Good luck, safe climb and safe descend John Snorri , Ali Sadpara , and Sajid.

〰️Garmin sharing links shows that John Snorri (Iceland 🇮🇸), Ali Sadpara, and his son Sajid Ali Sadpara (Both Pakistan 🇵🇰 ) reached 6730m this afternoon. The initial plan was to reach C3 by today (hopefully they will make it – 6730m heigh gained is based what GPS shows), and from C3 start to the summit push at 18:00 PKT, aiming for the summit of Mt. K2 on 25th morning 9:00 PKT.

▪️I wish them the best, for the successful ascent!

Our entire team is at the basecamp now, looking for the next stable weather window. Been a cruel weather condition for the last three days, in my opinion, the 24th and the 25th of Jan (max wind at summit 45KM, average 35KM) would be a very short window for our team.

We will wait until 28th Jan and decide.

We are departing for our attempt to summit. We will keep you updated of any development. Please keep us in your thoughts...

We are departing for our attempt to summit. We will keep you updated of any development. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

The plan is to leave BC at 9pm local time tonight, arrive to C3 on Sunday by noon, rest and push for summit at 6pm. Aiming for the summit at 9am Monday.

We are positive and ready for it.
