*Subject: VACCINATION REQUIREMENT FOR HAJJ / UMRAH PILGRIMS*
Dear Members,
With reference to TAAP's letter, The Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination
has clarified to Chairman TAAP as under:
- Meningitis, Influenza and Polio vaccinations are mandatory for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
- Currently, these vaccines are available at the International Travellers Vaccination Centre, Civil Dispensary, Karachi Airport, therefore the requirement is presently being implemented for travelers departing from Karachi Airport only.
- Vaccination facilities will shortly be available at other cities/airports, after which the same requirement will be implemented there as well.
TAAP has requested the Honourable Minister to defer implementation from Karachi till uniform implementation is possible from all cities. Response from the Honourable Minister is awaited.
Members departing from Karachi may be guided accordingly.
