Pakistan is the only country in the world that is home to over 13,000 glaciers, making it a unique location in terms of natural beauty and geographical significance. These glaciers, primarily located in the northern regions of the country, are part of the vast Himalayan, Karakoram, and Hindukush mountain ranges. The sheer number of glaciers in Pakistan highlights its position as a key player in the global environmental landscape, particularly concerning water resources and climate change. These glaciers are crucial for supplying fresh water to millions of people and are an important part of the region’s ecosystem. However, their rapid melting due to climate change has raised concerns about future water availability and environmental impacts. 👍🇵🇰
