The Bagpackers has been formed by a group of Young Innovative Minds as a privately owned company and non-political organization to promote environmentally responsible, Eco Tourism and sustainable practices in the tourism industry of Pakistan, as a national body.
Ecotourism is now defined as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education" . Education is meant to be inclusive of both staff and guests.
The Bagpackers is working closely with young minds belonging to different sectors of the society including current students, graduates and professionals for the promotion of tourism as well as trying to network with private sector organizations and other like-minded national, regional and international bodies to facilitate and support synergy of policies, initiatives and activities at local and national level.
