🧗♂️ Meet the Heroes Behind the Broad Peak Recovery Mission
In one of the most dangerous and technically demanding rescue and recovery operations in the Karakoram, these extraordinary mountaineers risked their own lives to bring the fallen climbers home with dignity.
🇳🇵 Mingma G (Team Leader) – Founder of Imagine Nepal Treks and the first Nepali to summit all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks without supplementary oxygen. A world-renowned mountaineer, he led the Broad Peak recovery mission with remarkable courage, leadership, and determination.
🇳🇵 Dipan Gurung – A highly accomplished Himalayan climber with multiple 8,000-meter summits, including five ascents of Mt. Everest, two of Mt. Lhotse, as well as successful expeditions to K2, Annapurna, Manaslu, and other major peaks. He continues to earn recognition as one of Nepal’s outstanding high-altitude mountaineers.
🇳🇵 Pemba Chhewang Sherpa – An elite high-altitude guide and expert rope-fixing specialist from Solukhumbu. A member of the 2026 Annapurna I rope-fixing team, he has successfully climbed Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu, and several other Himalayan giants.
🇵🇰 Sirbaz Khan – The first Pakistani to complete all 14 eight-thousanders without supplementary oxygen. One of Pakistan’s most celebrated mountaineers, he has achieved numerous historic milestones and played a vital role in the Broad Peak recovery operation.
🇵🇰 Abid Baig – A distinguished high-altitude mountaineer and ultra-endurance cyclist from Hunza. He has summited Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II, Tirich Mir, and several other major peaks without supplementary oxygen, showcasing exceptional endurance and resilience.
