many dynasties still holds great treasures within itself. As the time wades the old culture still there are steps to be followed and enjoyed. Like touring the WALLED CITY OF LAHORE, in TANGAS. This was once a Royal mean of transport, that even the British Rule enjoyed moving about in Tangas. Being an ancient mean of moving nowadays have become an enjoyable mean of excursion. Adil Lahorei as his name is pure Lahore born and brought up in this historical city, well knows the magic hidden in these places. Being a son of the Lahore's soil Adil holds a good grip over the historical places as he has visited these places number of times, gathered all stories from the seniors living in those areas, these stories traveled from heart to heart & generation to generation. This was a real treasure that Adil Lahorei decided to create interest to explore the historical city of Lahore and share it with the new young generation as they must be aware of this Royal City of Lahore. Means of transport are many in the world but horse has been an ancient and easy mean of travelling. Since the very beginning people used just horses to travel far & wide for trading and even in wars. But horse is a peaceful animal who love to be treated with soft feelings and love. ADIL LAHOREI CULTURAL CLUB stands as a milestone in exploring the hidden treasure of historical city, LAHORE. Adopting horse carrying seems to be real attraction for the youngsters. Tonga Tour is a weekly activity which is organized by ADIL LAHOREI CULTURAL CLUB. People really enjoy exploring the WALLED CITY with Adil. Starting at early morning and with whole day's plan carries tour to KAMRAN'S BARA DARI at Ravi, Jehangir's Tomb across the Ravi at Shahdra, the gates of lahore then while enjoying the tonga ride all visit the Lahore Fort, which carries history of many invaders in Lahore. Each ruler have their strong roots deeply en-planted around the great fort. These tours are not only for natives rather they capture the height of interest & attraction of foreigners. Being a source of attraction for the people from far & wide sub- continent always have been of great attraction. The rulers left behind a lot more for the generations to enjoy and know about the culture the kings and queens were living in. If Lahore Fort tells us about the different rulers of Lahore (Indo- Pak), the Shalimar Garden and Jehangir's Tomb also show us that even after their death they have same royal status. No matter these are places where today people love going for family picnics and enjoyment. One can feel the air of those royalties living around. ADIL LAHOREI CULTURE CLUB holds a sound grip over the history of Lahore and it's surroundings. As well as the mysteries of the city dwelling within the WALLED CITY of Lahore. During the grand past Lahore was just surrounded by walls and had 12 gates to the entry, which were guarded by the royal guards. As the time passed by the city developed and Lahore is now expanded from all edges. Nowadays hardly anyone knows even the names of those 12 gates. 1. Lahori Gate 2. Delhi Gate, 3. اس تصویر میں طارق عزیز اور قربان جیلانی ساتھ کھڑا یہ نوجوان لڑکا نیلام گھر میں سوالات کے درست جوابات دے کر اپنے وقت کی سب سے بہترین جاپانی ٹیکنالوجی کا شاھکار کاواساکی موٹرسائیکل وصول کرنے کھڑا ہے یہ کوئی اور نہیں بلکہ نامور ادبی شخصیت پاکستان کے انسائیکلو پیڈیا جناب عقیل عباس جعفری صاحب ہیں ۔ آج کل تو کسی بھی پروگرام میں کولہے مٹکا کر کچھ کھا پی کر موٹر سائیکل مل جاتی ہے۔ مگر 70 کی دھائی میں جب نیلام گھر آتا تھا تو اس میں موٹر سائیکل جیتنا ایک بڑا اعزاز ہوتا تھا سوالات کے جواب دے کر اپنی برتری ثابت کرنا پڑتی تھی۔ جعفری صاحب نے اس دور میں نیلام گھر سے موٹر سائیکل جیتی تھی۔

یہ بس سروس 1929 میں شروع کی گئی تھی۔
برطانوی دور میں وادیٔ کشمیر کا مرکزی زمینی رابطہ راولپنڈی کے راستے تھا، جو بعد میں پاکستان کا حصہ بنا۔ اس روٹ پر دو بڑی ٹرانسپورٹ کمپنیاں، الائیڈ چراغ دین اور ناندا، اپنی سروسز فراہم کر رہی تھیں۔ لیکن حالات کشیدہ ہونے پر ان کمپنیوں نے اپنی سروس بند کر دی اور اپنی گاڑیاں واپس بلا لیں۔

انگریزوں نے 1849ء میں سکھوں سے تختِ لاہور چھینا اور 1857ء میں تختِ دہلی پر بھی براجمان ہو گئے۔ لاہور میں فصیل کے باہر انہوں نے کچھ فاصلے پر ایک جدید لاہور کی بنیادیں ڈالیں۔ لگ بھگ سات کلو میٹر لمبی مال روڈ کی بنیاد 1851ء میں رکھی گئی اور سول انجینئر لیفٹیننٹ کرنل نیپئر اس کے نقشے اور تعمیر کا ذمہ دار تھا۔
یہیں گورنر ہاؤس بھی بنایا گیا۔ اس کے دائیں بائیں پھوٹنے والی سڑکیں بھی اسی نئے لاہور کا حصہ بنیں۔ لاہور ریلوے سٹیشن 1859ء میں قائم ہوا تو اسے سڑکوں کے ذریعے مال روڈ سے بھی ملایا گیا۔
اس زمانے کی چیف کورٹ آف پنجاب (اب لاہور ہائیکورٹ) کے پہلو میں فین روڈ ہے۔ یہ سر ہنری فین (Henry Fane)کے نام سے منسوب ہے جو برٹش ہندوستان میں آئر لینڈ سے تعلق رکھنے والا کمانڈر انچیف تھا۔
ہائیکورٹ کے عقب میں ایک چھوٹی سڑک اب بھی ٹرنر روڈ کہلاتی ہے جو فین روڈ سے جڑ جاتی ہے۔ یہ الوائن ٹرنر (Alweyn Turner)کے نام سے منسوب ہے جو برٹش دور کا ایک نامور وکیل اور جج تھا۔

مال روڈ پر دوبارہ آئیں تو ریگل پر بائیں ہاتھ ہالز روڈ آتی ہے جو اَب الیکٹرانکس کی بڑی مارکیٹ ہے۔ یہاں چار بڑے ہال تھے جو نمائشوں اور اجتماعات کیلئے استعمال ہوتے تھے۔ اسی لیے اس کا نام ہالز روڈ ہے۔ یہ ہال وقت کے ساتھ ختم ہوکر کمرشل عمارتوں میں تبدیل ہو چکے۔

ہالز روڈ کی بغل میں بیڈن روڈ ہے جو مال روڈ کو میکلوڈ روڈ سے ملاتی ہے۔ اس کا نام Sir Cecil Beadon کے نام پر رکھا گیا جو بنگال کا لیفٹیننٹ گورنر تھا اور جس نے بطور کمانڈر 1857ء کی بغاوت کو فرو کرنے میں نمایاں کردار ادا کیا تھا۔

مال روڈ پر چیئرنگ کراس‘ جو اَب فیصل چوک ہے‘ لندن میں واقع چیئرنگ کراس کی طرز پر بنایا گیا تھا اور نام بھی یہی رکھا گیا تھا۔ یہاں ملکہ وکٹوریہ کا مجسمہ بھی بنایا گیا تھا۔
چیئرنگ کراس کے سامنے قرطبہ چوک جانے والی سڑک بظاہر اسی مجسمے کی رعایت سے کوئنز روڈ کہلاتی ہے۔ یہاں برطانوی افسروں اور امرا کی رہائش گاہیں تھیں۔
ہائیکورٹ کے مقابل مال روڈ سے ایک اور سڑک پھوٹتی ہے جس کا نام میکلوڈ روڈ ہے۔ یہ سڑک سر ڈونالڈ فرائل میکلوڈ کے نام سے منسوب کی گئی تھی۔ ڈونلڈ میکلوڈ نے لاہور میں کافی کام کیے۔ اورینٹل کالج کی داغ بیل بھی ڈالی اور اس کا بڑا کتب خانہ بھی اس کی موت کے بعد پنجاب یونیورسٹی کی لائبریری کا حصہ بنا۔ لاہور ریلوے سٹیشن بنانے میں بھی اس کا اہم حصہ تھا اور بظاہر اسی لیے یہ سڑک اس کے نام سے منسوب ہوئی۔

میکلوڈ روڈ پر جہاں لاہور ہوٹل ہے‘ ایک سڑک نکلسن روڈ اس سے پھوٹتی ہے جو قلعہ گجر سنگھ کی طرف سے ایمپریس روڈ جاتی ہے۔ نکلسن روڈ‘ جون نکلسن کے نام سے منسوب ہوئی جو ایسٹ انڈیا کمپنی کا فوجی افسر اور آئرش تھا۔ نکلسن 1857ء کی بغاوت میں دہلی میں مارا گیا تھا۔

ایمپریس روڈ ملکہ وکٹوریہ کے نام سے منسوب تھی اور یہ شملہ پہاڑی سے ریلوے سٹیشن کو جانے والی سڑک ہے۔ اسی پر ریلوے ہیڈ کوارٹرز بھی قائم کیے گئے تھے۔

ایجرٹن روڈ لیفٹیننٹ گورنر پنجاب سر رابرٹ ایجرٹن کے نام پر تھی۔ اسی روڈ پر واقع فلیٹیز ہوٹل ایک اطالوی تاجر انڈریا فلیٹی نے 1880ء میں قائم کیا تھا۔ ان دنوں ایسے ہوٹل کی گوروں کو سخت ضرورت تھی۔ قائداعظم محمد علی جناح سمیت نامور ترین افراد مثلاً مارلن برانڈو‘ ایوا گارڈنر بھی یہاں مقیم رہے ہیں۔

ڈیوس روڈ شملہ پہاڑی سے اَپر مال روڈ کو ملاتی ہے۔ یہ لیفٹیننٹ گورنر پنجاب سر رابرٹ ہنری ڈیوس کے نام پر تھی جو 1871ء میں گورنر پنجاب تھا۔ ویلز سے تھا اور اس نے لاہور چڑیا گھر اور میو سکول آف آرٹس (موجودہ این سی اے) کا ادارہ قائم کرنے میں اہم کردار ادا کیا تھا۔

سر لارڈ میو 1869ء سے 1872ء تک وائسرائے یعنی گورنر جنرل ہندوستان رہا۔ میو ہسپتال بھی اسی کے نام سے منسوب ہے لارڈ میو کا اصل نام رچرڈ ساؤتھ ویل بورک تھا اور وہ آئر لینڈ کی میو ریاست کا چھٹا ایرل (Earl) تھا۔ انڈیمان کے دورے پر وہاں سزا کاٹنے والے ایک آفریدی پٹھان نے اسے قتل کرکے اس کے عہدے اور زندگی کا خاتمہ کیا تھا۔

برطانوی فوجی چیمبرلین کے نام پر موجود سڑک‘ جو مسجد مائی لاڈو کو سرکلر روڈ سے ملاتی ہے‘ ڈپٹی کمشنر برانڈرتھ کے نام پر برانڈرتھ روڈ‘ سر رابرٹ منٹگمری (لیفٹیننٹ گورنر پنجاب) کے نام پر منٹگمری روڈ‘ کمشنر لاہور کے نام پر کوپر روڈ جہاں خواتین کا کالج اب بھی موجود ہے‘ چیف کمشنر پنجاب سر جون لارنس کے نام پر بنی سڑک‘ جو ریگل چوک مال روڈ سے چائنہ چوک کو ملاتی ہے اور جس پر لارنس کے نام کا لارنس گارڈن موجود ہے
لاھور جو ایک شہر تھا اب ایک ہجوم ہے ۔۔۔

بتی چوک یا راوی سے آزادی چوک یا لوہاری کی طرف آتے ہوئے ایک منظر جو اب آذادی انٹر چینج کی وجہ سے مفقود ہو چکا، تصویر میں بادشاہی مسجد کے چاروں مینار اور گرودوارہ ڈیرہ صاحب دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔ تانگے تو اس تصویر کے دس برس بعد تک بھی چلتے رہے لہور کی سڑکوں پر۔
تصویر سن 2000 یا 2001 میں فلم والے کیمرے پر بنائی گئی تھی ۔۔۔
وہ خوبصورت لاہور کہیں کھو گیا بہت سے لاہوریوں کو یاد ہوگا کہ اس چونک میں کتنی دیر تک کھڑا ہونا پڑتا تھا کبھی بڈھا دریا بھی اس کے ارد گرد بہا کرتا تھا ہم نے تو یہاں پہ بہت پتنگ بازی دیکھی خاص طور پر بسنت کے دنوں میں پتنگوں کے لٹیرے کانٹے دار جھاڑیوں کے ساتھ اس باغ میں اکٹھے ہوتے تھے ہم نے تو سردیوں کی خوبصورت شاموں کو بھی دیکھا ہے اور ڈھلتے سورج کو بھی ہم اس زمانے کا سونا چاندی بھلا کیسے بھول سکتے ہیں اندھیرا اجالا من چلے کا سودا اور پھر ٹیلی تھیٹر کیا خوبصورت زمانہ تھا
وقت سدا سا نہیں رہتا مگر وقت اپنے ساتھ بہت سی خوبصورت یادیں چھوڑ جاتا ہے جن میں سے ایک یاد اس تصویر کی بھی ہے
لاہور جو ایک شہر تھا اب ایک ہجوم ہے
