How to get here:
First of all one has to go to Chitral.
This can be done via booking a private coaster or eitherways, booking tickets from Islamabad main Pir Wadhai Adda to Chitral and the journey takes around 12 hours to reach Chitral from Islamabad.
Next morning one can go from Chitral to reach Mastuj via again a private or public conveyance. Mastuj can be reached from Chitral in 4-5 hours mostly depending upon road condition.
Keep in mind that Mastuj is the last location where PTDC is available, so Mastuj is the last civilized place to reside where one can get facilities for Internet, basic hygiene such as washrooms etc. Coz after this there won't be any cellphone coverage, no proper washrooms facility... all open... :P
Next day, one has to book a private van from Mastuj towards Ishkarwaz. Journey takes a cumbersome and tiring 12 hours. Passes from various small villages such as Kashmanja, Pwaar, etc... road condition at times goes from bad to worst and sometimes there's even no road, however the driver's skill leaves you speechless at times... the last 2-4 hours are extremely tough and one reaches Ishkarwaz around night time, and that's the 1st camping site.
From Ishkarwaz the next camping site is around 19 km and it's called Lashkargaz... extremely challenging and equally beautiful... full of flora and fauna, beautiful patches of lush green undulating meadows, marshes, textured patterns on mountain... 2nd camping night.
From Lashkargaz the trek to this Beautiful Karomber lake is 29 km again on foot... so one can accordingly manage the trek to suit one's comfort level... All open landscape, extremely harsh environment... too cold at night, too hot and sunburning in the day... the landscape is extemely enchanting, & full of wild flowers, streams and totally unspoilt atleast till now... Btw there are no major villages/settlements in between the trek... and only a few people around 200 reside in the whole valley. So one can either be a bit agreesive in approach and leave early so that one can reach the lake in one day or eitherways split the trek in furhter two days and stay for a night at Sheowrsher village/settlement. So this is the 3rd camping night (if you're trying to complete 29km in one day) and a 4th one too if one is planning to split this lap into two days.
Carrying CNIC Is Mandatory as it gets checked at various points.
