4-day Skardu itinerary by air, perfect if you’re flying from Islamabad/Lahore:

*Day 1: Fly to Skardu + Upper Kachura*
- *Morning*: Take PIA/Airblue flight to Skardu Airport. Weather-dependent, so keep a buffer day if possible.
- *Afternoon*: Check into hotel. Visit *Shangrila Resort "Lower Kachura Lake"* - boat ride + photos
- *Evening*: *Upper Kachura Lake*. Calm, crystal water. Walk around or sit by the shore.
- *Overnight*: Skardu city

*Day 2: Shigar Valley + Katpana Desert*
- *Morning*: Drive to *Shigar Valley* ∼1 hr. Visit 17th-century *Shigar Fort* - now a museum hotel. Explore Shigar bazaar.
- *Afternoon*: *Katpana Cold Desert* + *Katpana Lake*. One of the highest cold deserts. Try paramotoring/jeep safari if time allows.
- *Evening*: *Kharpocho Fort* in Skardu for sunset over the Indus + city view
- *Overnight*: Skardu

*Day 3: Deosai Plains Day Trip*
- *Full Day*: Early start with 4x4 jeep to *Deosai National Park* ∼2 hrs. Called "Land of Giants".
- Key stops: *Sheosar Lake*, Bara Pani, Kala Pani. Wildlife: Himalayan brown bear, marmots, golden eagles.
- *Note*: Only open Jun-Oct. If closed/season off, swap with *Khaplu Valley + Chaqchan Mosque + Khaplu Palace* instead.
- *Overnight*: Skardu

*Day 4: Soq Valley + Departure*
- *Morning*: Visit *Soq Valley* ∼45 min from Skardu. Lush green valley, stream, local trout fish.
- *Alternative*: If short on time, do *Manthokha Waterfall* ∼2 hrs drive.
- *Afternoon*: Souvenir shopping at Skardu bazaar - dried apricots, gemstones, local crafts
- *Evening*: Flight back to Islamabad/Lahore
