A student of village near in baltistan doing his .Beside of the hardworking there is no proper university in gilgit baltistan.Over more than 20k students of gilgit baltistan are seeking education in different universities of Pakistan.They pay more than 200 crore rupees on hostel fees and food expenses etc other than tuition fee .The degree of 10 lac fees could be possible for gb students having 20 lac expenses because of hostels .The money flows from gb to other cities which negatively impacts on the economy of Gilgit baltistan.
Currently more than 25 new universities projects are approved , all for punjab including the cpec university. The students want to seek higher education but inflation doesn't allow them .
The government should establish universities in gilgit baltistan properly having all major departments , so the talented and high iq students of gb get opportunities.

Years:

Baltis follow a lunar calendar and we have a circle of 12 years known as lo-skor . These 12 years are named after various animals . The years are as follow

1. Bya lo ( Rat year )
2. Lhang lo ( Ox year )
3. Singe lo ( Lions Year )
4. Ryong lo (Rabbit year )
5. Brug lo ( Dragon year )
6. Rbul lo ( Snake year )
7. Rta lo ( Horse year )
8. Lug lo ( Sheep year )
9. Shadi lo ( Monkey year )
10. Biafo lo ( Hen year )
11. Wa lo ( Fox year )
12. Phag lo ( Pig year )

Balti new year starts on 21st of December , we call it LOSAR (New Year ).

Months:

Historically Balti people used to name months after animals, that system is now valid for name of years only. The current names were devised in the 7th century , when the Yarlung Dynasty was in rule . The names are based on four seasons, and these are named in a proper pattern.

1. Sna spyid-lza (First month of spring)
Sna means “First” , spyid means “spring” and Lza means “month”.

2. Bar-spyid Lza (Middle month of spring)

Bar means “middle” .

3. Tha-spyid Lza (Last month of spring)

Tha means “last”

4. Sna-zbyar lza ( First month of summer)

Zbyar means summer

5. Bar-zbyar Lza ( middle month of summer)

6. Tha-zbyar Lza (Last month of summer)

7. Sna-ston Lza ( First month of autumn)

ston means Autumn

8. Bar-ston Lza (Middle month of autumn)

9. Tha-ston Lza (Last month of autumn )

10. Sna-rgun Lza (First month of winter)

Rgun means winter

11. Bar-rgun Lza (Middle month of winter)

12. Tha-rgun Lza (Last month of winter)

Now-a-days Islamic calendar is generally in use, with a bit of amendment in the names such as:

Muharram is generally called Matam-i-lza or Matam “month of mourning” .

Rabbi ul Awal has been replacd by Pagambar-i-Lza “Month of Prophet PBUH.
