Seeing Saif ul Mulook From Above Changes the Whole Story
From ground level, Saif ul Muluk feels intimate — the lake right there, mountains crowding in. From a plane, you get the scale.
The turquoise water is a sharp contrast against the Kaghan Valley’s rough ridgelines, sitting at 3,224m like it was placed there deliberately.
You can trace the glacial melt that feeds it, see how isolated it is, and spot Malika Parbat standing guard in the background.
It’s a 10-second glimpse through the window, but it sticks: one perfect, isolated lake in the middle of some of Pakistan’s most rugged terrain.
