The upgrades are nearly complete and I’m starting to look back upon why I bit off all of this work on the first place. Here is why:

There are three things that would ruin your sail charter in my opinion:

1. Motors not working and not being able to leave the dock. Yes, I’ve actually heard of this and I cannot believe that someone would let their guests aboard a charter and then say “sorry, we are unable to untie from the dock.” I’m sure this is a rare circumstance and if the story didn’t come from a guest who I really like and respect I would have thought it was made up.

Nevertheless, we would never let our motors get to this state if dis-repair.

2. Having to worry about water consumption or worse yet still having to go to a dock in order to refill water tanks instead of being off the grid with a water maker.

Have no fear, after this summer NADIYA is equipped with THREE (yes you read that right, x3 desalination systems) capable of producing 150 gallons of water per hour when operating at full capacity.

Redundancy, redundancy, redundancy.

3. Last but arguably most important, Air Conditioning.

This one is what kept me up at night the last two seasons. November - March you can get by without A/C, but honestly it’s so much more pleasant to sleep with it.

I know that many sailing purists will say that you “don’t go out on the water to have air conditioning”, but I totally disagree.

Our trips are supposed to be a total reset. This means good food, good vibes and most importantly good sleep! NADIYA should not feel like “roughing it” at all and if it ever does I encourage the feedback to make it better!

Instead of just updating the system, I did something a little bit crazy. I installed an entire secondary air conditioning system in the four main cabins.….

If my numbers are correct, will be able to operate all night WITHOUT RUNNING THE GENERATOR OVER NIGHT. (Thanks to the updated battery bank)

If you’ve been on a charter boat and slept next to the gen-set you know how big of a deal this is.

NAYA is receiving a few upgrades to make her more enjoyable and seamless for guests.

First, a new dinghy with a new outboard motor. Aboard NADIYA Captain B is always keeping the dinghy inflated and the outboard ready to go. But aboard NAYA we he won’t be there to do this except once a week in between trips. Therefore, we needed it all to be brand new and in excellent condition. (Guests can drive the dinghies for both NADIYA and NAYA)

Next up is a new windlass and chain. Captain B already installed an oversized Rocna anchor on the bow of NAYA which would have been difficult for guests to pull up by hand. Not any more however, NAYA guests can simply push a button and the anchor goes up or down!

The biggest upgrade for today? A new electric toilet!! If you’ve ever used a pump toilet on a boat and were interested in booking NAYA for a bareboat adventure you were probably hoping and praying we’d do this upgrade.

We took NAYA for her first Adventure today and I have to say, she made me love sailing again.

Don’t get me wrong, NADIYA is still my #2 girl (behind Chef Monika) BUT NAYA is just so stress free and is SOOO easy to sail. No electric winches, manageable sails that are up quick, no major consequence if you mess something up.

If you want absolute raw adventure on a boat that is an easy to handle size where YOU at the helm, you want NAYA.

If you want a crew to take care of you on a floating adventure platform that feels more like a hotel that can move than a boat, you want NADIYA.

NADIYA officially has a new little sister, meet NAYA!!

NAYA is the perfect boat for folks who are intimidated by renting a bigger boat but still want to be able to take their family around the islands on an adventure.

Her charter license will be registered for up to eight guests, but realistically, she is better for families or potentially four adults.

Crazy idea round two anyone? 
After the major let down on the big vintage cat (and another missed deal on a smaller vintage cat cruiser) we are going to look at another Cat tomorrow, this time it’s a sailing Catamaran.

If, and that’s a big “IF” people!! (the best plans are made in the sand) we get this boat and put in into the fleet as “NAYA”, this is what we’ll offer :

Bareboat Charters in the Exumas and Florida Keys on NAYA, a 32’ catamaran that sleeps 6 and is SUPER easy to maneuver and sail.

Can you drive a pontoon, I bet you could take your family and friends around the Exumas on this thing! And if you watch our pre-adventure videos you’ll learn enough to even put the sails up if you get brave.

If moving the boat around the islands scare the heck out of you, just stay around Georgetown and treat it like an on the water Airbnb. Where you can hop between Coconut Club, Chat n Chill, Da Sand Bar, The monument Hike, The Moriah Cay sandbar and lazy river and just take it easy.

Staying around these areas in the harbor is literally like being on a lake!

You pay $5k for the 5 night 6 day trip, provide your own food and fuel (the 25 hp sips fuel) and drive the boat and cook for yourselves. Dinghy + two inflatable paddle boards + snorkeling and fishing gear, comfy beds / pillows / sheets and a fully ready to go off the grid boat are YOURS to do your thing.

There will be no crew, NADIYA is “Choose your own Adventure” but NAYA would be all about “Creating your own Adventure!” (We’ll guide you and be available for consult at all times, but not on the boat with you)

No hassle of boat ownership in the Bahamas, but all the benefits.

Before we buy it, we want to gauge interest in such an offering and would like to extend the following to our NADIYA family :
