There are some weeks where we remember EXACTLY why we love and continue to do this job.

The guests are polite, grateful to be on the water / for our hard work and excited for every aspect of the adventure that is a NADIYA charter.

The Ellis family came along right when we needed them the most. And if the first day of charter with them is any indication of what the rest of the week will be like, I think Monika and I will be saying thank you to them more than they say it to us!

Thank you to Sandi, Kyle, Kyla and Keegan for choosing to adventure aboard NADIYA. You could have vacationed anywhere in the world, but you are here with us and we intend to do our part in making this the Adventure of a lifetime for you!

For all of my life, I have loved simply being on the water.

When I lived in Nebraska, I was on the river (or in a little brown irrigation creek) in a kayak as much as possible. I would pack it up with camping gear and spend days at a time out and about.

When I restored my first vintage speedboat I would spend hours cruising around the lake at slow speeds for no reason other than it felt good to be on the water. I’d anchor it as close as possible to the shore next to my tent or camper, wishing I could sleep on it.

When I got my first sailboat, “Baby Strange”, I probably spent more time sleeping on that 22’ vessel than any other person in branched oak marina history. (They probably thought I was homeless because I was there so much.)

When I started thinking about curating charters, I knew that there had to be more people in the world like me who just wanted everything (their restaurant, hotel, gear shop) to be with them, on the water.

This family are all 100% water people, and we loved having them aboard NADIYA. We hope that this trip was as good for their soul as it was for ours.
