Niepołomice Forest 🔝✅ is a forest complex located in the western part of the Sandomierz Basin, about 20 km east of Kraków, in the fork of the Vistula and Raba rivers. It covers an area of about 110 km² and consists of several separate forest complexes, once constituting a single whole. The first mention of the forest dates back to 1242. Due to its proximity to Kraków, the forest became a favorite hunting ground of Polish kings from the 13th to the 18th century.
The forest is an ideal place for hiking and cycling, thanks to a well-developed network of roads, paths and lanes. 🚴♂️🌳 🏇🏼Four hiking trails, a bicycle route, a horse riding route and an educational trail have been marked out on its territory. An additional attraction is a platform for observing bison. 🦊🦔🐾🐸🦉
