Looking for a restaurant in Krakow where local history meets Krakow cuisine? ✨

Located in the Garamond Hotel, Kuryer brings the city’s past to the table. Inspired by the history of Kuryer Codzienny Ilustrowany, one of Poland’s most popular interwar newspapers, the restaurant serves traditional Krakow cuisine with a modern twist.

We discovered it during Restaurant Week and loved it! Add a beautiful historic setting and live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays, and you have a lovely spot for a memorable evening in Krakow. 🎷

Want to experience the Polish mountains without the crowds? Skip Zakopane and see where Monty would go instead for a day trip from Krakow🏔️

The Pieniny Mountains have castle ruins, turquoise lake views, wooden rafts on the Dunajec River and proper highlander food — with a little more room to breathe.

Here’s what we’d put on your list:

Two castles, one lake — Explore the 14th-century ruins of Czorsztyn Castle, then cross the lake to the beautifully preserved Niedzica Castle. The views of the Tatras are worth the trip alone.

Hike to Sokolica — Find the famous pine tree perched on a cliff above the Dunajec River. The views? Pretty spectacular.

Raft down the Dunajec Gorge — Spend around two hours drifting between dramatic limestone cliffs, guided by local highlanders with stories (and jokes) along the way.

Cycle across the border — Follow the flat riverside trail into Slovakia and stop for lunch in Červený Kláštor. Two countries, one lovely day out.

Eat trout where it’s caught — Head to Zagroda Markowa for local smoked trout. Come hungry.

One day is enough for the castles and the rafting. Stay two, and you can take your time with the rest.
