These are our favourite places and activities in Krakow. This is where we go personally, and regularly, where we take our visiting friends and family, and many of you have met us in these locations! 1• Auschwitz ⭐️ BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE ⭐️
A visit to Auschwitz is like no other on the planet. You can't adequately describe the impact it makes on visitors, everybody is different. But it will have an impact on you.
Our personal preference is to visit it as part on an experience shared with others, every step of the way there and back (door to door), assisted by personnel who are expert on a visit like this. We also prefer to have nothing else to think about other than the experience of the camps. The conversation in our Krakow group tends to be far more about buses, trains and cancellations. Never about the camp itself and its impact. There's something not right about that and we feel this is where the museum has made a huge mis-step in its vilification of (and lack of dr re co-operation with) the tour companies. No other organized tour has any issues (just look at the Salt Mine for example).
For those that want to visit as part of a shared experience our message has been to book well in advance and directly with a trusted operator. The only one we know really well and can vouch for personally is krakowtogether. They handle this experience the right way and have earned our trust having taken thousands of our group members.
2• Golf cart tour
Save a LOT by booking online in advance. The 2.5 hour tour of Old Town, Jewish Quarter and Ghetto is the perfect first thing to do to get oriented to the city
3• Wieliczka Salt Mine
It's the second most popular tour from Krakow and a do-not-miss. Allow 5 hours door to door.
4• Zakopane
If you make your own way there you can do a very basic visit - the bus or train cost about the same and pretty much leave and arrive at the same place in Krakow and Zakopane. You can walk into Zakopane and see the main street 'Krupowki' good for shopping and dining, then go up Gubalowka mountain on the 'cable car'.
The group tours do all the above and usually add on a 1/2 day at a thermal baths complex and more. Once you decide you want to visit the baths, the tours make more sense in our opinion. And we love Terma Bania in particular, far better and quieter than the one most visitors go to. We also love the tour that adds the new and spectacular Sky Walk Poronin (breathtaking views) as an alternative to going to the baths
5• In warm weather we also adore Gorący Potok Thermal Baths. All the pools are outside and the whole park is very green and done in the wooden regional Zakopane style. It has the most natural of the thermal waters of the big 4 baths too. It's a baths you can reach easily. All the Zakopane buses from Krakow pass by it. Just ask the bus driver to stop at Banksa Nizna. 6• Communist Krakow golf cart tour for only 49zl !

8• 🥩 Mr'Jerry Restauracja & Steakhouse Kraków - known for its legendary Steak Boards with 1200-1600g of beef and a hot lava stone for finishing the steaks. Mention 'Planet Krakow' when ordering and each guest gets a free glass! Many members write it was there best steakhouse experience anywhere!
9• 🎹The Piano Rouge – Main Square
One of the most popular spots for a romantic dinner or memorable night out in the heart of Krakow. Legendary plush red interior and nightly live music 🥂 Special Offer! Mention Planet Krakow when you visit and receive a glass of Prosecco!
10• 🚚 Mural food truck park is a few mins walk from Old Town and is a sensation. Six fantastic food trucks, all with different cuisines as well as a lovely interior bar and outside terraces. 🇵🇱 The new Polish food truck TAK is doing THE BEST POLISH food - amazing portions, fantastic flavours at street food prices. Soup in bread bowls, pierogi, kielbasa, zapiekanki - they have all the Polish classics and we have not tasted better! They even do the best fried chicken and skewers!! Take your food receipts to the bar, mention Planet Krakow and get a free beer or lemonade for each receipt. This is a HOT recommendation for 2026 and word is spreading fast. The other trucks are awesome too and we love them all: pizza (best pizza in town from 29zl), burgers, sushi, Mexican (the guys from Tu Bistro below) and Pakistani (well known Indian dishes). We go regularly.
11• 🇬🇧 Scandale Royal. They have always had a popular English breakfast and it has just been upgraded (in partnership with us) to become Krakow's best English breakfast - and you get a free tea or coffee if you mention Planet Krakow
And now they have added an exclusive dish for our followers and group members. A FLAMING LAMB SHANK and, even better, it's available at an introductory price of 99zl (will be 169zl). We have been waiting to find a great lamb dish - so we partnered with these guys again to bring you this one.

12• 🇬🇧Shadow Resto Bar is a Modern European Krakow restaurant and cocktail lounge who have added British classics to their menu:

13• DYNIA Resto Bar. Located a couple of doors away from Mural food truck park, it's best known for its leafy courtyard garden, cosy atmosphere and comfort-food style international menu with lots of fresh, seasonal dishes. It leans toward modern European comfort food. Think soups, salads, pasta, risotto, breakfasts, amazing desserts and seasonal dishes. Top tip: 1.1kg of barbecue ribs - feeds two - for just 118zl. Great food, great location and great value. Do Mural for lunch and Dynia for dinner!
14• 🇮🇳 Tandoori Flame their sister Indian restaurant Bharat Flame are consistently the most highly rated on Tripadvisor and by our members too. If you visit and mention Planet Krakow, they’ll add a free bonus to your meal. Absolute quality.
15• 🇲🇽 Mexican. We love Mexican food and Tu Mexico Bistro offers top drawer, home cooked Mexican food. They also excel at breakfasts and added a breakfast burrito to the menu at our request. Mention Planet Krakow for a free plate of churros, it's Nina's fave dessert in the town! In one word: authentic.
16• 🇵🇱 Polish: Pork is the top meat here and the place to go for excellent Polish pork is Golonkarnia. Our local restaurant, 10 mins walk from the castle along the river. They have a legendary 1kg crispy pork knuckle (golonka) that is outstanding and some say the best one in Poland. Fabulous pork ribs too. And try their Polish food 'trough' - designed for 4 people it comfortably fed 6 of us and is Poland on a tray, it really is.
17• 🚚 2 brand new foodtrucks in the center of Kazimierz. The food was fantastic! A bright, shiny mini pizza truck Mondo Rotondo. Mini pizzas each with different toppings from around the world. Holy cow! The flavours! The second truck, an offshoot of the very popular Moa Burger from Old Town. Try their Moa smash burger (double patty). Find them just down from the legendary Plac Nowy in Kazimierz in the courtyard next to Kupa Synagogue. Everyone that mentions „Planet Krakow” at Mondo Rotondo gets a free drink with every set of 3 mini pizzas.
18• 🇮🇱 If you are near the AC Marriott/ Hyatt Place then check out Balagan, Israeli street food and their 'Lumber Slug' burger is a giant and a favourite - all their menu is great!. Mention Planet Krakow and choose either draft beer for 8zl for every dish you order from the menu or 15zl refund on your order for the taxi ride to them. Another regular stop for us.

20• 🇺🇸 Sioux – Main Square
Well-known restaurant right on the Main Square known for a broad menu (steaks, grills, Tex-Mex style dishes), good value and reliable service. Ideal for a convenient meal in a prime location. 👉 A classic “easy choice” when you want something familiar in the heart of the city.
21• 🇵🇱 Starka – Kazimierz
One of the most consistently recommended restaurants in Krakow, known for its Polish cuisine, house-infused vodkas and warm service

22• DO NOT MISS: experiencing a night at the legendary FENIKS restaurant and dance club just off Main Square. A Krakow institution for 93 years. Really good Polish food, drinks and dancing to Polish classics and a few British ones too. Fun starts around 8:30 pm and it keeps going til 4:00am. Why just go to boring restaurants and bars when you can party all night at an absolute classic in Krakow? Open Fri, Sat & Sun. Book at Feniks on Google Maps. Mention Planet Krakow and get free cherry licquor shot! There is no night in Krakow to match this.
23• WINE: Moti Wine Bar & Shop specializes in Polish wines that can be accompanied by cheese / meat boards with produce from the neighbouring Stary Kleparz market. A flight board of 3 selected glasses of Polish wine for just 60zl is a great way to get introduced! Krakow has it's very own wine region, Jura, and it's starting to produce exceptional wines. 24• Winosfera Kraków 3x75ml glasses of Polish wine to try (one each red, white and orange) and a small cheese, hummus, bread and olives plate. 79zl!! Polish wine is fast becoming a thing and this is a perfect way to try them. Stuku Puku. 6 high end different vodka shot tasting set plus small snacks plate. Just 60zl. This is NOT the cheap sugary flavoured vodkas, these are the real deal - proper Polish vodkas. Hair on your chest stuff. This is what you need to try!
25• COCKTAILS: Empire of Cocktails in Kazimierz opened in 2025 and has quickly become a smash hit with group members. Great night time vibe and their Imperial P**n Star with smoking bubbles is one of the most Instagrammable photos! Be sure to press the big red button in the bathroom for a disco! 26• COCKTAILS and Vodka Tasting: We are proud to welcome MOVIDA to Planet Krakow! One of the most popular cocktail bars in Old Town and already a big fave with group members. Fabulous cocktails, food and six different flavoured vodka shots on a tray for just 54zl! Known as well for their legendary Karaoke nights on Thursdays with half price cocktails. 27• COCKTAILS: Zaćmienie 2.0 is just 20 steps away from Main Square and is noteworthy for its cocktail deals with great 2-for-1 happy hours. In May the 2-for-1 cocktails are all day, all month. They have a good menu too with All Day Breakfasts and some Polish classics. Check out their baguette covered on cheese sauce and their breakfast burger too that they pour the cheese sauce in front of you. Even better value when you learn they'll give you a free prosecco or small beer when you order food and mention Planet Krakow!
28• CRAFT BEER: Kraków has loads of bars, but these four really stand out for craft beer, with huge selections from Poland and abroad, constantly rotating taps, and a great mix of atmosphere, food and locations — three in the heart of Kazimierz and one just off Main Square in Old Town. Multi Qlti Tap Bar is perfect for an easy Old Town session with craft beer, hot dogs and loaded fries; Szklanki on Jakuba 19 offers a massive range of beers, ciders, wine and cocktails alongside pizzas and sharing boards; Weźże Krafta on Dajwór 16 mixes a cool industrial vibe, great outdoor seating and excellent Neapolitan pizza, plus an awesome club next door; while Nowy Kraftowy on Plac Nowy 8 is a lively Kazimierz favourite with craft beer, cocktails, smashburgers, pizzas and a big garden out back. 29• Polish ceramics are highest quality, very collectible and make great gifts for all budgets. Dekorbuy have three great shops in Old Town - start at Sławkowska 9, just one min from Main Square. They're the ones with the ceramic rabbits, grannies and snowmen that are very popular (read viral) with group members. Mention Planet Krakow and get 5% off! OTHER ACTIVITIES
30•🦉It's wonderful to visit Owls' Cave Experience Centre right in the center of Old Town. 2 hours of information / interaction with beautiful owls and birds of prey and really good value too. They really are awesome creatures and so cool to get so close and hold them. Group members are raving about it. Can even pet one or two of them. Highly recommended.
31• For some rest and relaxation after all these tours, we recommend Mariacki Spa next door to St Mary's Basilica in Main Square. It's a lovely place, lovely staff and they have a very comprehensive treatment list. Great prices too! They'll give you free glass of wine when you mention Planet Krakow too!
