We firmly believe that Polish produce is exceptional and that all cuisines are worth experiencing here, in this diverse city, because they are elevated with Polish produce. So yes, try Polish food for sure, but try all your normal favourites here too. You will be pleasantly suprised!
🇵🇱 Polish: you don't need to look any further than TAK on Main Square, opposite the Town Hall tower. The feedback is superb. The goulash in a bowl is the best in the city by a mile. All of their Polish cuisine is the best. Try them once at the start of your visit, and you will return and return and become a huge fan of Polish food. They have introduced great breakfast, lunch and happy hour deals - we post regularly about them. Just search TAK
🥩 Steak: An easy choice. Mr Jerry. The feedback since we started going there and recommending them 2 years ago has been off the charts. Everything there is top notch and local Polish produce. You can't go wrong. Their sharing board for 2 is still our favourite meal in the city - what more can we say.....⭐️
🇮🇳 Indian: We are Brits and we are curry addicts and we have found some excellent curry houses in Krakow. The Indian sharing board at Indus Tandoor was actually designed together with us. It's the Indian version of Mr Jerry's sharing board. Early feedback has been wow! It's another do-not-miss. Another long time fave of ours is Tandoori Flame/ Bharat Flame. Five years going there and their service and quality is exceptional. Don't have any hang ups at all about enjoying Indian food here, made with local produce many visitors say it's as good or better than they get at home.⭐️
International / European Restaurants:
I'm not sure any restaurant gets more positive feedback in this group than Piano Rouge on Main Square. It's magical. They have the best cellar lounge with decoration that no one can match. Live music every night at 8:00pm. It's romantic as well as a memorable place for celebrations. But they also have perhaps the best terrace on Main Square too, right under St Mary's. Our favourite spot to soak in the Main Square vibe and people watch. A great variety of food AND cocktails. It's a restaurant bar and really special. ⭐️
DYNIA is a new one on our list. Next door to Mural. A locals' favourite and it's the best place for enjoying seasonal produce with the best seasonal international menu. It also has one of the best gardens. Like we say, Polish produce is incredible, but it's seasonal. These guys understand it. This is like the local market on a plate The locals know. And now we are switched on to it too. Visitors haven't cottoned onto it yet, so go now before they do!
Shadow RestoBar sits in between Old Town and Kazimierz and has top food, top vibe and top cocktails. Just a great place. But, they also have of the best traditional British Sunday roast dinners you might ever have. Again, when made with Polish produce it's elevated. Give it a try. You will be amazed.⭐️
Multi Qlti is a 25 tap craft beer bar in the dead center of Old Town. Steps off Main Square. An awesome bar, excellent beer choices (cocktails and wine too) AND great value food too. Be sure to use the PLANETKRAKOW password and you will get the best value in Old Town. Homemade proper chips too. The chips with bolognese dish is fab, pairs so well with a nice beer. This is a great new find for us and you will love it too!⭐️
Street Food: Another easy one. MURAL. Six food trucks, plus terrace and a bar. Next to Old Town. Exceptional value too. They really do have something for everyone. So no matter how picky you are, they will have something you will want and like. It's a fave hang for us.⭐️
RIBS and more! Ribs House, just next to Old Town does UNLIMITED ribs for 99zl and it includes some sides. Even better, mention Planet Krakow for another 10% off AND free lemonade. ⭐️
🍳Breakfast: Go to Scandale Royale in Old Town or Cargo in Kazimierz. Great breakfast menus, again something for everyone. BUT. Best full English in the city by a stretch. Seriously. Why? We designed it with them. We know the competition in the city and we knew how to better them. All killer, no filler as they say. And there is more exceptional Polish farm produce on those English breakfasts than any Polish breakfast. So endulge yourself. The only complaint people make? Some say too big! But hey, we have big appetites. Again, you will be wowed. We have to mention Cargo's steak sandwich too. Steak, bacon, onion and chips in a huge sandwich covered in hot cheese sauce. It's an OMFG sandwich ⭐️
Food event: there are food events on in Krakow all the time, usually at weekends where you can try dozens of restaraunts in one event. The new, and biggest and best, one is GASTRO MIASTO. Held on the last weekend of May, June, July and Aug by the river in front of the castle. Massive hit with locals. If you are here during those weekends (Fri, Sat & Sun) do-not-miss them. They get the most participants and are the only one Mr Jerry attends! Music, dancing, bars. All by the riverside. Oh boy, we love Krakow like this, we really do
GIFTS
Those ceramic bunnies and grandmas you see everywhere? From DEKORBUY. Best gift shops (3 in Old Town) and always at the fairs and markets. They have exclusive ceramic products. Polish ceramics are highly collectible and world famous. The products everyone loves and is talking about are exclusive to them. Best people too. We are happy to call them friends now. They have ceramics of all sizes and budgets. If you go to one gift shop, this is the one. Whenever we post about them, we always get a huge response from people all over the world.
