Well… that escalated quickly.

Our Jordan departure was, of course, cancelled today following the sudden regional escalation and airspace disruption.

This is one of the realities of international travel — sometimes global events move faster than itineraries.

We don’t panic.
We adapt.

One of the benefits of organised travel is protection — when flights are cancelled due to extraordinary circumstances, you’re covered. Refund or rebooking options were offered immediately.

So now we decide:

Pause and regroup?
Pivot somewhere unexpected?
Or rebook Jordan for calmer days?

Travel isn’t just about destinations. It’s about flexibility, perspective and knowing when to move — and when not to.

Welcome to Great Escapes by Planet Krakow.

Long before Kraków, travel shaped our lives.

Nina worked for an international airline. I spent years as an international business executive. Exploring the world wasn’t a hobby — it was part of how we lived.

When we created Planet Krakow in 2020, we didn’t just film city guides. We kept documenting our wider journeys too — because some stories don’t fit neatly into one destination.

A Best Recommendation! The Royal Savoy hotel in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt. Fabulous. Swimming on the coral reef, five star treatment, next door to the excellent Soho Square shopping and entertainment complex and we felt it was very good value for money. We followed a tip and selected bed & breakfast because there's free drinks and snacks all day until sunset + a 25% discount off the restaurants. Suited us perfectly and much better vfm than all inclusive and the other hotels. We see why it's the best rated Sharm hotel on trip advisor.

One of our favourite Red Sea stays.

Royal Savoy, Sharm El Sheikh.

Private beach.
Morning light over the water.
Cabana afternoons.
And surprisingly good dining.

Sharm can be misunderstood. Done badly, it’s generic resort sprawl.

Done well — it’s calm, comfortable and quietly beautiful.

Because not every “escape” is about constant sightseeing.
