A few things to know before visiting Kraków 🇵🇱

Kraków is one of those cities that you can easily fall in love with, but a few little tips can make your trip even better.

☕ Start your day with a coffee and a walk through the Old Town before the streets get busy.
🥟 Give Polish food a proper try - pierogi, zapiekanka and obwarzanek are a must.
🏘️ Take some time to wander around Kazimierz. Forget the map for a while and just explore the little streets, cafés and hidden corners.
🌿 When you need a break from the city, head towards the Vistula river. It’s especially beautiful around sunset.
👟 And most importantly - bring comfortable shoes. Kraków is best experienced slowly, on foot, with no rush.

Did you know? 🏛️✨

Kraków’s iconic Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) has been at the heart of the city’s trade for centuries! What you see today is the result of many reconstructions, but the building’s history goes all the way back to the Middle Ages.

Originally, merchants traded cloth and other goods here, making the Cloth Hall one of the most important commercial places in medieval Kraków. 🧵🪙

Today, it’s one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Main Market Square, and a perfect reminder that Kraków’s streets are full of stories hiding in plain sight. ❤️

Auschwitz - five dates that the world must remember.

- 27 April 1940 - Heinrich Himmler ordered the establishment of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
- 14 June 1940 - The first transport of prisoners arrived at Auschwitz (728 Polish political prisoners).
- 1942 - Mass deportations of Jews to Auschwitz began, along with the mass murder in the gas chambers.
- 27 January 1945 - Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by the Soviet army. This date is now observed as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
- 2 July 1947 - The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum was established to preserve the memory of the victims and document the history of the camp.

Auschwitz is a place of remembrance, sorrow, and reflection.
