With weather disruption on people’s minds, this feels worth sharing. 💨 🌧️ ⛈️

This weekend flights has been delayed or cancelled due to the storms leaving people trying to reach different destinations to join their cruise and unfortunately missing their embarcation 😬✈️⛈️

Joining at another port isn’t guaranteed. It needs the cruise line’s agreement and can depend on the itinerary, local rules and your travel documents.

If you’ve booked flights and cruise separately, you could be left organising and paying for alternative travel yourself, then trying to recover eligible costs through your insurance. Having travel insurance doesn’t automatically mean every missed connection is covered, so check the cruise cover, missed departure wording, exclusions and limits carefully. 📋

I always recommend at least 2 nights before your cruise, particularly when flying further afield. It gives you breathing space if things go wrong, plus a lovely chance to explore before boarding! 🌎🥰

Check those passports before leaving home too. Even the best-planned holiday can unravel without them! 🙈

For my clients, I bring everything together as a fully protected package, with support from me and the tour operator if plans are disrupted. That doesn’t stop delays happening, but having someone to help coordinate the next steps can make such a difference. 💖
