Auschwitz’s Extermination Camp

We traveled to Krakow, Poland for the end of our WWll tour for the main purpose of visiting Auschwitz. Auschwitz is a heavy day of learning about the horrors and atrocities of the Holocaust.

We learned that this wasn’t just an attemp to exterminate only Jews, although they lost the most people, but to also rid of gypsies, people with physical and mental disabilities, and people with political oppositions.

Here are a few pictures but it came to the point where I just stopped taking pictures because it got too heavy. The room with the women’s hair will never leave my mind. That hair belonged to moms, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, wives and some were still braided, just lying in a heap. The SS sold the hair to make mattresses and pillows.

Sometimes traveling for history is hard, but I’m so glad I went! And if you don’t think this ever happened, you can take it up with your maker when you meet. (See captions for explanations)

Krakow, Poland. We went for the history but couldn’t pass up the galumpki and pirogies! I’ve only had galumpkis with tomato sauce but this mushroom sauce was delicious!!
