Today we celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. It all started on the 1st of August at 5pm.

Yesterday I was at the military cemetary of Powązki, lighting candles with a group of veterans. We visited the graves of those who defended the powerplant. I almost emptied a box of matches when it hit me, that each match is one boy who gave his life. And I only visited a small portion of all the graves dedicated to the Uprising.

Today we celebrate the Constitution Day - the anniversary of enacting the constitution, which took place on the 3rd of May, 1791. It was the first document in Europe, the second in the world, to establish modern legislation.

FYI, most Poles celebrate that day by organising barbeques :)
