On our food tours, we always strive to bring you to places that not only serve great food, but which matter and tell a story. In Warsaw, many of you have tried the classic zapiekanka from Lussi, the inconspicuous, legendary street food stall serving hungry Varsovians for more than 30 years. Now, in the face of the kiosk being closed, an evening party with a techno stage and hundreds of guests was organized to protest against the decision and bid farewell to the iconic place. We will continue to serve you Lussi zapiekanki on our tour, but from a new, nearby location. For now, bye bye 1990s vibe in the middle of the city!

🇵🇱🎉 Happy Independence Day! November 11th is not only the day we celebrate our independence, but also the name day of Marcin! And what better way to celebrate than with delicious dishes tied to tradition?

In Poland, on this special day, one of the most popular dishes is roast goose. It's not only delicious but also symbolic, as roast goose is traditionally associated with Polish cuisine and Independence Day. It's a perfect opportunity to savor the taste of our culture and history.

But that's not all! Another essential part of this day is the St. Martin's croissants, known as "Rogale Świętomarcińskie." These delightful pastries, which are a certified product, are incredibly popular in the Wielkopolska region. Their sweet flavor and unique shape make them a perfect addition to our festive feast.

🍰 WZ (or wuzetka) is a tasty pastry that was born in Warsaw during the communist era. Its idea is very simple, and as we all know, the simplest recipes are usually the tastiest 😋.
🍰 Two slices of chocolate sponge cake layered with whipped cream and topped with 🍫 glaze. Layers of sponge cake can be soaked and spread with jam.
🍰 It is an important cake for all Varsovians but not only - it is served in pastry shops all over Poland.
🍰 It is very much associated with the times of People's Republic of Poland and is a motif that often appears in the culture from those years 🎬📚.
🍰 The name "WZ" derives either from the well-known route through the capital or from the communist term for „wypiek z (kremem)” (baked with cream) or from the first producer "Warszawskie Zakłady Ciastkarskie" (Warsaw Cake Factory).
🍰 WZ has recently been listed on the List of Traditional Products of Polish Ministry of Agriculture!

This, of course, means more focus and - luckily - more stars! So what's the news? 💥 We now have a 2 ⭐️ restaurant, congratulations, Bottiglieria 1881! 💥 Poznań debuts with 1 ⭐️ for Restauracja MUGA and 💥 a ⭐️ is now also back to Warsaw for Adrea Camastra's Nuta Restaurant.
