Type C or Type D — the difference is your client’s legal status.
Visa Type C and Visa Type D look similar on paper. Different rules, different purposes, different consequences if misused.
Type C: short stays, tourism, business visits — 90 days max within any 180-day window.
Type D: long-term stays, work, relocation — issued by the destination country, no 90-day cap.
Placing a worker on the wrong visa type isn’t just a paperwork error. It’s a compliance risk your agency carries.
If you’re placing non-EU nationals into European markets, your documentation workflow needs to be built around Type D — and it needs to be airtight.
We work exclusively with recruitment agencies and immigration consultants on work permit documentation across 12+ European markets.
