Just over two months left until the next Beskid Culture Week, one of the biggest and oldest folklore festivals in Europe! Over 100 groups from all over the world will perform during these 9 days. It all started in Wisła in 1964 :)

Are you wondering what these two pictures have in common...and why we are we posting a picture from Paris Fashion Week? The answer is the traditional lace from Koniakow. The designer, Rei Kawakubo opened her show with a wedding dress made from Koniaków lace :) So, if you're in the Beskids, don't forget to visit the Koniaków Lace Museum :)

Yesterday.... the traditional 'mixing' of the sheep took place. This happens once a year when the sheep go out to pasture for the spring and summer only returning at the end of September. Shepherds believe this event gives the sheep an opportunity 'to socialise with each other'. This year 1100 sheep took part owned by 20 different farmers. A priest blessed the herds and, as with all traditional festivals, there was much singing, dancing, drinking and eating!

The Diverse Downhill European Championships take place in Wisła this weekend! Once again the riders will have the challenge of navigating the demanding track on Stożek Mountain in order to win the title. Check out last year's competition video...This year could be even more fun as the weather has played a trick on us and reverted back to winter. So, snow has returned to the Beskids (just a bit!):)
