When staying in an AirBNB, we should treat it as if we are staying our grandmother's house. Always leave it in the same if not better than it was when you arrived!

Not cleaning up after yourself at an AirBNB make nightly rates and cleaning fees soar!
If this guest had simply put some water in this pan for about 5 minutes, then put a drop or two of Dawn dishwashing liquid in the pan with a tablespoon of baking soda, scrubbed with a scratch pad for a minute, the pan would have been clean.
Instead, this guest just put this in the dishwasher and baked on the crud.
The cleaners put it in the trash pile. I had it cleaned in about 5 minutes. 2 minutes to soak in hot water, 3 minutes to scrub and rinse. Water, baking soda and Dawn are all provided right by the kitchen sink at Casa Zanon.

If you are coming to Puerto Rico during the power outages and staying at an Airbnb without a generator, please remember that this is something we deal with frequently living here, it could be a few days, so please have "Island life" kind of patience. And most importantly a reminder that as bad as being without power may seem, remember that you didn't come to Puerto Rico to sit in your Airbnb.
Our island is beautiful😍 and has so much to offer outside! Go to the beaches🏝🏖 go to the rivers, go to the mountains🗻. Go find restaurants, or food kiosks that are open and eat our amazing Puerto Rican food 🤩😋and support local businesses when we need that support the most. Go to Old San Juan and explore our history. Go drive around the island and see our gorgeous beaches, and bring some dog food with you and feed some of our thousands of Satos (🐕street dogs💔)
Talk to locals and really get to know our amazing people ❤️🇵🇷 When times are tough, our people celebrate the good even when it may seem so bad on the outside and can always find a reason to celebrate and that's why you come to Puerto Rico after all, not to sit in your airbnb.
So try to see the good thru the bad and get outside and enjoy everything Puerto Rico has to offer. Make some beautiful memories because the power will come back, I promise you, it will, but the TIME will not. It's your vacation. You work hard for those vacations, so stay positive, and Enjoy every moment! Have an amazing time, life is truly what we make it 🇵🇷❤️🤩🏝— in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Four of our 5 bedrooms have been deep cleaned and are ready for our next guests. We moved the bunk beds upstairs and the full-sized bed down, making the downstairs bedroom fully handicap accessible. I'm pretty pleased with how they all look!

Today, we changed out a couple of the bedrooms so that our downstairs bedroom is completely handicap accessible. It has a full-size bed, mirrored closet and access to the downstairs full bathroom. There is one step into the shower which should be manageable. The big reveal is coming shortly!

This week and next, I'm here at Casa Zanon making some little improvements to help make your stay more comfortable! Our guests love the labels and little "love notes" that I leave to make their stay more comfortable and less confusing.

Many of our guests are not from Puerto Rico so I do my best to offer tips that will help them navigate some of the idiosyncracies of island living.

TODAY'S TIP: Even when the pool is cleaned in the morning, by noon there will likely be a bit of sand in the bottom of the pool. Since we are so close to the beach, a bit of sand blows into the pool from time to time.

Hurricane season is rather slow in Puerto Rico. Tourists heed the warnings and tend to wait for the dangerous weather to pass--and rightly so!
BUT, that also means that those of us who offer quality accommodations take the time to work hard and spiff up our homes so that you can have the best and most comfortable experience!
Our favorite Casa Zanon painter, Javier, has been hard at work repainting the entire interior of Casa Zanon. The salt air and humidity can be hard on homes close to the water! We take this time to perform important maintenance so that you have the best accommodations possible!
