🧐It's called the stokes shift...The Stokes shift is the difference in wavelength or frequency between absorbed and emitted light. It's named after the famous Irish physicist (gotta love the irish, they say if it wasn't for alcohol they would have conquered the world 🤣🍀)Sir George Gabriel Stokes (1819-1883). Stokes was the first to extensively study the phenomenon of fluorescence and describe the characteristic difference in wavelength between absorbed and emitted light (now known as the Stokes shift)... ✨This is what makes our Night Snorkeling Experience so special (along with turtles of course)🥰... Basically when you shine a blue light (or UV, we use Blue because UV can be harmful to marine life) on coral with fluorescent properties the coral will absorb the light and re-emit it at a slightly longer wavelength. This is what causes the coral to 'glow in the dark' and it is one of the most magical things to witness in person. 🤩❤

When you wish upon a star???⭐️ The other night we were on a glow tour and we saw the most amazing thing we have seen since we started our excursions😲💙
We started the night as usual launching everyone for a gorgeous sunset, at first we thought the sunset wasn't going to be that great, it was cloudy and overcast so we weren't sure if things would come together. Boy were we wrong the sky opened up just before we launched and we ended up having one of the best sunsets we have seen yet but that's not even the best part!🌅 😍
After we finished our conch shell ritual where we send off the day giving thanks and blowing our conch horns, the twilight colors left from the sunset painted the background as we lit up the ocean, the kids saw turtles and fishies🐢 and all types of life which made the vibe for the night but here's where it gets crazy🤯 Shortly after dark as we were turning around to head back home we heard our friend CJ from Wildflow Surf Co. yell out, "COMET!" I kid you not guys, a giant fireball shooting across the sky, never in any of our lives had we seen anything like this (not sure if technically it was a comet or an asteroid or aliens but wow I mean wow)👽☄️Anyway it was a magical evening, we all left that night a little different than we went into it. Maybe it was the magic of how it all came together or maybe it was the chance for all of us to wish upon the biggest shooting star we've all ever seen🤩 One thing I know for sure is there just is something about this place, Aguadilla and this beautiful island, you will have our hearts forever❤️ P.S. thankfully our friend was out that night and grabbed this video (we missed the shot, because we were all so mesmerized lol but we have witnesses haha) this place never ceases to amaze us!
