🇪🇬✨ There’s so much more to Sharm El Sheikh than the resort…

As much as we’ve enjoyed everything our hotel has to offer, I definitely wanted us to get out and experience Sharm while we were here — and we’ve made some amazing memories. ❤️

Our excursions included:

🐠 SeaScope Submarine
We headed out onto the Red Sea before going down into the underwater viewing area to see the coral reefs and marine life — such a lovely experience, especially with children.

🏝️ Ras Mohammed National Park & White Island
A full day out on the Red Sea, with beautiful scenery, swimming and snorkelling, plus a visit to White Island. The colour of the water alone was worth it! 😍

🏜️ Desert Adventure
ATVs and buggies through the desert, followed by stargazing, dinner and entertainment under the night sky. Completely different from our days by the sea and such a fun way to experience another side of Sharm.

One of my favourite things about travelling is being able to combine relaxation with experiences. Yes, I love a beautiful resort and a pool day 😂 — but I also want my children to come home remembering the things we actually did together.

And from a travel advisor perspective, experiencing excursions myself means I can give my clients more than a description from a website. I can tell you what we enjoyed, what worked well as a family and the kind of experience you can expect.

This holiday has definitely reminded me that sometimes the excursions become some of the best memories of the whole trip. 🥹❤️

🌴🇪🇬 Come around the resort with me…

One of the things I wanted from this family holiday was a resort where there was plenty for us to do without needing to leave every day — and Coral Sea Water World has definitely delivered on that.

There’s much more here than just the pools and waterpark:

For me, some of those practical things really matter on a family holiday. Having a pharmacy and clinic on site, somewhere to grab snacks, activities throughout the day and different options for the children makes life much easier.

And this is one of the benefits of experiencing destinations myself. A hotel description can tell me what’s included, but actually staying here lets me see how it works for a family day-to-day — what the children enjoy, what’s convenient and what I would want another family to know before booking.

So far, I’d say this is one to consider for families who want an active, self-contained resort with plenty going on. ☀️

✈️☀️ Travel advisor… but currently the traveller! 🌴

I spend so much time researching holidays, comparing hotels and helping other people plan their escapes — sometimes I need to actually go and enjoy one too! 😂

I’m currently in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt 🇪🇬, enjoying some much-needed family time.

Travel insurance can feel like one of those things you hope you never need — but if something goes wrong, it can make a huge difference.

Depending on your policy, it can help protect you if:

✈️ Your holiday is cancelled
🏥 You need emergency medical treatment abroad
🚑 You need medical repatriation back to the UK
🧳 Your luggage is lost, delayed or stolen
⏰ You miss your departure due to unexpected circumstances
🌧️ Your trip is disrupted by events outside your control

The important thing to remember is that ATOL, ABTA and travel insurance all do different jobs. ATOL and ABTA can provide financial and booking protection in certain circumstances, but they do not replace comprehensive travel insurance.

That’s why I always recommend arranging suitable cover as soon as you book your trip and checking the policy carefully so you know exactly what you’re protected for.

Yesterday I spent the day at Lingfield Park Racecourse for the Rum & Reggae Race Day, while also learning more from the Travel Saint Lucia about the beautiful island, its hotels and the incredible range of experiences available.
