Young Skål Puerto Rico

Young Skål Puerto Rico Young Skål es una división de la Organización Skål International, creada para estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales en el campo del turismo.

Poco después de la inauguración del primer servicio aéreo conjunto de Suecia y Francia entre Estocolmo y París en 1932, un grupo de agentes de viajes procedentes de la capital francesa fueron invitados a realizar un vuelo de exploración de la nueva ruta. Como consecuencia de la bienvenida que recibieron en Estocolmo surgió una buena amistad. Conscientes de la importancia de reforzar las relaciones

entre las personas que se esfuerzan por desarrollar y promover los viajes nacionales e internacionales, los hombres que fueron en ese vuelo a Estocolmo decidieron fundar una organización permanente, cuyo principal objetivo fuera fomentar la buena voluntad y la amistad en el sector de los viajes y el transporte alrededor del mundo. De esta manera, surgió el primer Skål Club, en París, el 16 de diciembre de 1932. En 1934, otros doce Clubes de cinco países ya se habían formado y se concibió la idea de integrarlos en una sola organización internacional. La "Asociación Internacional de Skål Clubes (A.I.S.C.)" se creó el 28 de abril de 1934 en el Hotel Scribe. Hoy, Skål International tiene aproximadamente 18.000 miembros en 450 Clubes pertenecientes a 85 naciones. En 1999, se crearon los Grupos Young Skål con el objeto de dar a conocer Skål entre los jóvenes estudiantes que están formándose o trabajando en los diversos sectores de la industria del turismo, ofreciéndoles la oportunidad de asociarse a Skål.

Skal in action!

Lizzette Alonso, the Executive Director of El Hogar el Pequeño Joshua and La Perla de Gran Precio, thanks the members of Skål Puerto Rico and Skål USA for their kind and generous support. Through hurricanes and earthquakes, the small home in the mountains of Puerto Rico has been giving shelter and loving care to needy infants and toddlers, and in a separate facility to homeless and destitute women. In the photo are Skål PR President Robert Rodríguez, Skalleague Maritza Toste, Lizzette Alonso, and Skalleague Ronald C. Flores, who presented the most recent contribution.
