When the walk starts off with the tracks all ankle deep in water, you know it'll be interesting... Great scenery, amazing vegetation and colours, and a random Roman-looking road that suddenly appeared on the track...

Lovely walk in very wet conditions... most tracks are rivers... Photos stopped when the heavens opened and we had to do a route march back to shelter 😅

An opportunity to get out for a walk... the autumn colours are lovely, all the streams are overflowing, the fungi are popping up everywhere... and there is a lot of mud!!

Sunday started off a bit misty and murky, but it started lifting quite soon into the walk. By the time we made it to the village for a drink, it was a lovely, sunny day, with great views of the castle over the border. We found some bats using the old mill house, and finished off strolling up the river valley...

Walked around the lovely village of Monsanto, up to the castle, and around the back through the boulders... Great views in all directions, and Spain in the distance is a reminder of why the castle was built here...
