🇺🇸 Santiago Church. Built in 1186 by order of King Sancho I, it was hit by the earthquake of 1531 and later destroyed by the earthquake of
1755. In 1765, work began on the construction of the new church, which was completed after 7 years. In 1989, the church was loaned to the City Council to be adapted to cultural functions. Today, it houses a bookshop.

🇵🇹Santiago Church. Construída em 1186 por ordem do Rei D. Sancho I, foi atingida pelo terramoto de 1531 e destruída pelo terramoto de 1755. Em 1765, iniciaram-se as obras para a construção da nova igreja, que ficou concluída passados 7 anos. Em 1989, a igreja é cedida à Câmara Municipal de Óbidos para que seja adaptada a funções culturais. Hoje, alberga uma livraria.

🇺🇸 The three little shepherds, Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto, residing in the village of Aljustrel, belonging to the parish of Fátima, were three children who claimed to have witnessed the apparitions of the Angel of Portugal (or Peace) and the Virgin Mary that occurred in Fatima between 1916 and 1917.

🇵🇹Os três pastorinhos, Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco Marto e Jacinta Marto, residentes na aldeia de Aljustrel, pertencente à freguesia de Fátima, foram três crianças que afirmaram ter testemunhado as aparições do Anjo de Portugal (ou da Paz) e da Virgem Maria ocorridas em Fátima entre 1916 e 1917.

But the meaning that prevails is that the Nazarenes used the skirts to count the waves of the sea while waiting for the coming to land of their husbands and children.

🇵🇹 As sete saias que as nazarenas usam podem apresentar vários significados como as sete virtudes, os sete dias da semana, as sete cores do arco-íris ou as sete ondas do mar. Mas o significado que prevalece é que as nazarenas utilizavam as saias para contar as ondas do mar enquanto esperavam a vinda para terra dos seus maridos e filhos.

🇺🇸 Located between the estuary and the sea, there are small “Palheiros” with red, blue and green stripes. Once used as warehouses for fishing implements, today they welcome several families during the bathing season, making it one of the most sought-after places for a seaside walker.
They are called “Palheiros da Costa Nova”.

🇵🇹 Implantados entre a ria e o mar, encontram-se pequenos Palheiros às riscas vermelhas, azuis e verdes. Outrora usados como armazéns de alfaias da pesca, hoje em dia acolhem várias famílias durante a época balnear, tornando-se um dos locais mais procurados para um passeiro à beira mar. The DayTours was founded by Rodrigo Matias, in July in 2013. Your initial activity was transfers and turist and cultural visits. He decided creat this company because our reginal and tourist market have a failure. Our job is do the best tour with so much stops between Lisbon and Porto. Today, we do many tours with so various nationalities. Everyday, we try to find the best for you. The company is localized in Benedita, Alcobaça.

A DayTours foi fundada por Rodrigo Matias, em julho de 2013, tendo iniciado a sua atividade no âmbito dos transfers e visitas turísticas e culturais. A combinação da experiência nesta área com a identificação de uma lacuna no mercado da região levou ao desenvolvimento orgânico da marca para o setor do Concierge Empresarial. Este é o foco atual da DayTours, que opera a partir da Benedita, Alcobaça.
