Up here on Madeira’s north coast, the scenery changes fast. Laurissilva forest in Queimadas, tunnels carved into the mountain along PR9, and Caldeirão Verde waiting 8.7 km into the trail 🥾

Santana is a very good reason to leave the usual Madeira route for a while⛰️
